A user equipment (UE) may receive a list of Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) that support a given network slice in a given country, different from a home country of a home PLMN of the UE. When roaming in the given country, UE may access a PLMN of the list if the given network slice is desired. The list may be provided by the home PLMN: while the UE is in the home country; or via a visited PLMN while the UE is in the given country. The list may be received in response to a UE-initiated request, or pushed to the UE by the home PLMN. A validity timer period received with the list may indicate a duration of validity of the list. In an alternative scenario, the UE may receive the list from an entitlement server, e.g., one belonging to a visited PLMN.

Selection of slice-supporting PLMNs while roaming away from home network

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing authorization revocation for unmanned aerial vehicles. A cellular network element of a cellular network may receive a request to revoke authorization of a wireless device that is an element in an unmanned aerial system. The cellular network element may provide an indication to the wireless device to disconnect from any other elements of the unmanned aerial system based at least in part on the request to revoke authorization.

Authorization revocation for unmanned aerial vehicles

Techniques and wireless devices to perform adaptive measurement object prioritization in a cellular communication scenario. A wireless link is established by the wireless device with a serving cell of a cellular base station. Adaptive measurement object prioritization is implemented responsive to determining that a trigger condition has occurred. A configuration message is received from the base station, where the configuration indicates a plurality of measurement objects including both Long Term Evolution (LTE) and New Radio (NR) measurement objects. A first measurement object of the plurality of measurement objects is selected to prioritize for measurement. The first measurement object is measured during a first measurement gap prior to measuring one or more second measurement objects of the plurality of measurement objects, and a measurement report is provided to the serving cell specifying a measurement result of the first measurement object.

Intelligent NR object prioritization for 5G service

A Public Land Mobile Network includes a network slice quota (NSQ) node to implement a quota on the number of user equipments (UEs) or (UE, PDU_Session) pairs that may be registered on a network slice. An access and mobility management function (AMF) queries the NSQ on whether quota is available for registration of a UE on a network slice in response to a notification of successful authorization and/or authentication (AAA) of the UE. Alternatively, the AMF may preemptively capture one or more units of network slice quota for the UE prior to initiation of the AAA procedure. The AMF may start a timer after UE deregistration is initiated, and not relinquish the quota unit held by the UE until after the timer's expiration. The network may also include a session management function (SMF) that provides UE identification as well as PDU Session ID when requesting registration of a UE.

Enhancements for handling network slice quota

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for SoR list management and PLMN selection based on an SoR list. A UE may receive an SoR container which may include a list of OPLMNs. The UE may store a prior list of OPLMNs stored on a USIM of the UE on a memory of the UE. The UE replace the prior list of OPLMNs stored on the USIM with the list of OPLMNs included in the SoR container. The UE may consider the prior list of OPLMNs as a lower priority list as compared to the list of OPLMNs stored on the USIM. Additionally, in response to determining to move from a current PLMN, the UE may scan for a new PLMN based on the list of OPLMNs stored on the USIM.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for UL traffic throughput enhancements in NSA deployments. A UE may determine that an UL data requirement is substantially greater than a DL data requirement. The UE may perform an UL enhancement procedure based on UL enhancement conditions. The UL enhancement conditions may include determining that a master cell group does or does not operate according to LTE, determining that UL data traffic is only carried via LTE bands or that UL data traffic is split between LTE bands and NR bands, determining that UL carrier aggregation is or is not available, and/or determining that blind secondary cell group addition is supported or is not support by a network. The UE may be configured to perform the at least one UL enhancement procedure thereby enhancing uplink throughput.

A user equipment (UE) displays a list of available networks for manual network selection. The UE detects multiple networks during a public land mobile network (PLMN) scan, wherein the multiple networks include one or more PLMNs and one or more stand-alone non-public networks (SNPNs), generates a manual network selection list that includes at least i) the one or more PLMNs or ii) the one or more SNPNs, determines a sequence in which entries of the manual network selection list are to be displayed at the UE, displays a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes a representation of the manual network selection list and registers with one of the multiple networks in response to user input.

A wireless device may connect, using a first subscriber identity module (SIM), to a first base station according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second base station according to a second RAT. The wireless device may also connect, using a second SIM, to a third base station according to the first RAT. The wireless device may, in response to the second SIM performing a call according to the first RAT, disable the first RAT for the first SIM and perform, using the first SIM, data communication according to the second RAT while the call is performed using the second SIM.

Embodiments described herein relate to wireless communications, including methods and apparatus for dynamically selecting subscriber identity module (SIM) profiles, electronic SIM (eSIM) profiles, multi-SIM operating modes, and/or wireless access networks for network slice based applications of wireless devices. A wireless device can include at least two SIM/eSIM profiles and switch use of SIM/eSIM profiles, change between dual SIM operating modes, and/or select a registration mode based on requirements of one or more applications in use and availability of network slices via different wireless networks.

Dynamic profile and radio access technology selection based on application network slice requirements

Several techniques using a network slice quota (NSQ) management function provide dynamic adjustment in order to meet the limitation of data rate per network slice in the uplink and downlink wireless connections in a wireless network. In one technique, when the limit is reached, the session aggregated maximum bit rates (AMBR) per subscription level is adjusted in proportionate ratio of the maximum bit rate per subscription level per user equipment (UE). In another technique, when the limit is reached, there is a proportionate equivalent increment and decrement of session AMBR based on usage patterns of the subscription levels. In a further technique, when the limit is reached, there is a proportionate equivalent increment and decrement of slice resources based on usage patterns. In yet another technique, a quota update is attempted using the Unified Data Repository (UDR).

Apparatus and method for dynamic data rate adjustment for a wireless slice

This disclosure relates to methods and devices for mitigating overheating in a user equipment device (UE). The UE is configured to communicate over each of LTE and 5G NR and may be configured to communicate through 5G NR over each of a Sub-6 GHz and a millimeter Wave (mmW) frequency band. The UE is configured to establish an ENDC connection with an enB and one or more gNBs. The UE implements intelligent transmission modification and cell measurement adjustments to mitigate overheating and reduce battery drain.

Techniques discussed herein facilitate configuration of network slices for a User Equipment (UE) supporting constraints on simultaneous operation of slices. Such a technique may comprise: receiving a registration request message to request registration on a set of requested network slices; registering the UE to a set of allowed network slices; and generating a registration accept message for transmission indicating the UE is registered to the set of allowed network slices, wherein the registration accept message indicates slice compatibility information for each allowed network slice of the set of allowed network slices for the UE, wherein the slice compatibility information for each allowed network slice indicates whether or not other configured network slices of a set of configured network slices are compatible with the configured network slice for simultaneous operation by the UE.
