An augmented reality system and method including calculating an orientation of a head mounted display, the head mounted display comprising a cursor located fixedly on the display, estimating pixel positions of a real world feature viewable via the head mounted display, and displaying a display element having an assigned function in a fixed position relative to the estimated pixel positions the real world feature, the display element is configured to execute the assigned function when the cursor is maneuvered to be on top of the display element. Additionally, the method including displaying, on a head mounted display a plurality of display elements, each having an assigned function, in a fixed positions relative to real world features viewed via the display, detecting according to sensed orientation when the cursor is maneuvered to be on top of one of the display elements, and executing the corresponding assigned function.

A system for improving azimuth accuracy of a Line Of Sight (LOS) by adjusting an azimuth value obtained from one or more magnetometer based inertial sensors according to the sun position, comprising one or more magnetometer based inertial sensors, one or more imaging sensors, one or more location sensors and one or more processors coupled to the sensors. The processor(s) is adapted to execute a code comprising code instructions to: obtain location, elevation and time from the location sensor(s), obtain a sensor based azimuth value of a LOS of the imaging sensor(s) from the magnetometer based inertial sensor(s), obtain image(s) depicting the sun captured by the imaging sensor(s), calculate an actual azimuth value of the LOS according to the location, elevation and time with respect to a center of the sun computed by analyzing the image(s) and adjust automatically the sensor based azimuth value according to the actual azimuth value.

A method and system including a camera adapted to capture frame image data, an orientation detector adapted to sense an orientation of the camera relative to an inertial frame of reference, a GPS receiver adapted to generate location data indicative of a velocity vector of the system relative to the inertial frame of reference, and a processor adapted to: upon receiving a frame image data, identify reference objects in the frame image data, calculate an orientation of the camera relative to the velocity vector based on a displacement of the reference object between at least two frames, predict an orientation of the camera relative to the velocity vector based on the sensed orientation by the detector, calculate a correction for the sensed orientation by comparing the calculated orientation to the predicted orientation, and upon receiving a sensed orientation, use the orientation correction for calculating a corrected orientation.

Hybrid orientation system

An apparatus for treating varicose veins includes a catheter () where the distal end is placed within a varicose vein and the proximal portion remains outside the body of the subject. A heating element () heats the vein. A cooling element () can be applied to an external surface of the skin above the vicinity of the heating element. A control unit () can drive the heating element to apply heat to the vein simultaneously. Alternatively, the control unit can apply a current to the heating element to resistively heat a resistive element. A method for treating a varicose vein includes inserting the elongated heating element into the vein, and driving the heating element to apply heat to the segment of vein simultaneously from the entire active heating portion.
