Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for backing up data to a distributed multichannel storage system. One method includes an operation for detecting, by a distributed backup system (DBS), a request for backing up data from a host to the distributed backup system. The DBS sends a request to a backup agent executing at the host to initiate the backup. The backup agent mounts an endpoint for writing to the DBS and executes a script that writes the data for the backup to the endpoint. Further, the method includes operations for creating a file system stack at the DBS associated with the endpoint, storing data received by the file system stack at the DBS, and detecting, by the DBS, an end of the backup. The DBS sends a command to the backup agent to end the backup and terminates the file system stack at the DBS.

Multi-channel backup system

Disclosed examples relate to a power conversion system configured to provide a power output from an arrangement of direct current (DC) power sources. One example power conversion system includes multiple power sources PV(n), n=1 to x, connected in a series. For each power source PV(n) for n=1 to x&#x2212;1, the power conversion system includes an intermediate bidirectional voltage converter VC(n) connected to a first terminal of the power source PV(n), a first terminal of power source PV(x), and a second terminal of power source PV(). Each intermediate bidirectional voltage converter VC(n) includes a first switch operable in a pulsed mode to boost a power output by power source PV(n) and a second switch operable in a pulsed mode to reduce a power output by power source PV(n). The power conversion system also includes a balancer VC(x) connected to the first terminal of PV(x) and to a load.

A method and a device for representing digital documents for search applications are provided. The method includes periodically obtaining one or more digital documents stored in a memory of a handheld device, and generating a compressed representation of the one or more digital documents stored in the memory using one or more balanced trees. Additionally, the method includes receiving a search query including one or more words from a user of the handheld device for searching for one or more digital documents, and retrieving the one or more digital documents including the one or more words by traversing through a digital document map table and providing a search result including the one or more retrieved digital documents on the display of the handheld device if it is determined that the one or more words correspond to the one or more nodes in the word balanced tree.
