An electrical switch is provided having at least one contact system having a switching contact movable between two switch positions, an operating member that acts on the switching contact, a slide hinged on the operating member, and delay means operatively connected to the switching contact in at least one of the two switch positions. The delay means delaying movement of the switching contact, and being arranged in an extension of the slide. The delay means, the operating member and the slide are arranged on a same side of the contact system.

Electric switch

An electrical switch for electrical tools having an electric motor operated by a DC voltage. The switch comprises a contact system including a stationary contact and a switching contact, an operating element which acts on the switching contact to initiate a process for switching the contact system between an on-position and an off-position and a shield that quenches an arc that occurs between the stationary contact and the switching contact during the switching process. A movable slide is operatively connected to the operating element and has the switching contact arranged thereon. During the process of switching the switching contact from the on-position to the off-position, the shield is moved to an area located between the stationary contact and the switching contact. During the process of switching the switching contact from the off-position to the on-position, the shield is moved from the area located between the stationary contact and the switching contact. The shield is joined at one end to the slide, and the other end of the shield operates as a shielding element for the switching contact. The shield moves positively with the slide into and out of the area between the switching contact and the stationary contact.

Electrical switch

An electric appliance unit includes an appliance and a plug-in battery pack. The appliance has an appliance housing carrying an electric switch accommodated in a switch housing and including first electric contacts. The battery pack includes second electric contacts for engaging the first electric contacts. A first guiding arrangement guides and preliminarily centers the battery pack relative to the switch housing along a first insertion path extending to a first position to effect a coarse alignment of the first and second electric contacts upon reaching the first position. The first guiding arrangement includes a first guide component carried by the battery pack and cooperating, along the first insertion path, with a second guide component in the appliance housing. A second guiding arrangement guides and finely centers the battery pack relative to the switch housing along a second insertion path extending from the first position to a second position to effect a precise alignment of the first and second electric contacts with one another along the second insertion path. The second guiding arrangement includes a third guide component carried by the battery pack and cooperating, along the second insertion path, with a fourth guide component on the switch housing.

Guiding arrangement for a plug-in battery pack operating an electric appliance

An electrical switch which can be used in particular in power tools, such as drilling machines, angle grinders or the like, is disclosed. The switch has an actuator, at least one fixed contact, and at least one switching contact. The switching contact is arranged on a slide which is moveable between two positions by means of the actuator. The switching contact is at a distance from the fixed contact in the one position and bears against the fixed contact in the other position. An elastic device interacts with the slide, so that the slide can be changed over between the two positions with a type of snap movement. The elastic device may be a first spring, arranged on the slide, like a pressure-point spring. The first spring, during movement of the slide, interacts with a switching-point link, fixed relative to the slide, for generating a pressure point in such a way that a spring force is effective against the direction of movement of the slide up to the changeover point, which is reached when the pressure point has been overcome.

An electric switch (1), in particular for electric hand tools having an electric motor operated by means of direct current. The switch (1) possesses a contact system (9) consisting of a fixed contact (10) and of a switching contact (11), an actuating member (3) for triggering a switching operation between an 'off' and an 'on' position of the contact system (9) acting on the switching contact (11). The contact system (9) is assigned means (18), consisting of a shield (19), for extinguishing an arc generated between the fixed contact (10) and the switching contact (11) during the switching operation. The shield (19) can be moved together with the switching contact (11) in a coupled manner, during the operation to switch the switching contact (11) from the 'on' to the 'off' position the shield (19) being moved into the region located between the fixed and switching contacts (10, 11). Conversely, during the operation to switch the switching contact (11) from the 'off' to the 'on' position, the shield (19) is moved out of the region located between the fixed and switching contacts (10, 11), so that the switching contact (11) can be laid onto the fixed contact (10).

The invention relates to an electric switch (1), especially for use for an electric hand tool having an electric motor, such as a battery-operated electric tool having a direct-current motor. The switch (1) possesses a housing (2) for receiving a contact system, a movable actuating member which acts on at least one switch contact of the contact system, and control electronics (26) located in the housing (2) as well as an associated power semiconductor (28) for varying the rotational speed of the electric motor. The power semiconductor (28) is connected via a current-bearing and heat-conducting carrier part (31) to the contact system located in the housing (2) and, further, is heat-conductively connected to a cooling body (34) located on the outside of the housing (2). The carrier part (31) extends through a wall perforation (33) of the housing (2) at least as far as the cooling body (34). To simplify assembly, the cooling body (34) is held directly on the carrier part (31) non-positively and/or positively without additional fastening means.

Electric switch, especially for electric hand tools

An apparatus for adjusting carbon brushes of a reversible electric motor includes: a swivelable support; a fixed position contact plate disposed adjacent the support; a plurality of fixed contacts received in the contact plate and adapted to be electrically connected to field windings of the electric motor; and a plurality of brush holders arranged on the support for holding the carbon brushes, each of the brush holders having a facing surface which faces the contact plate. Each of the brush holders further includes a projecting portion projecting approximately perpendicularly from the facing surface in the axial direction into a region of the fixed contacts, projecting portions of the brush holders thereby forming switching contacts for making direct contact with the fixed contacts such that the fixed contacts are adapted to be in alternate contact with the carbon brushes for reversing a direction of rotation of the electric motor when the support is swiveled. Each of the fixed contacts has a contact surface extending approximately parallel to a corresponding switching contact in the axial direction, the contact surface further having elasticity the radial direction such that the corresponding switching contact is directly urged against the contact surface in the radial direction for establishing direct electrical contact between the fixed contacts and the brush holders.

Adjusting apparatus for carbon brushes on an electric motor

An electrical switch includes a stationary contact supported in a housing; a movable contact displaceable between first and second states toward or away from the stationary contact; a blade stationarily supported in the housing; a contact link carrying the movable contact and being rockably supported on the blade to assume first and second pivotal positions thereon to place the movable contact into the first or second state; an operating device movably supported in the housing and being movable in opposite directions of displacement into an operated state and an unoperated state; a first resetting arrangement means for urging the operating device into the unoperated state; a pivotal arm extending from the operating device; a pivot bearing pivotally securing the pivotal arm to the operating device; an operating stud attached to the pivotal arm and cooperating with the contact link for placing the contact link into the first or second pivotal position as the operating device moves into the unoperated or operated state; and a second resetting arrangement for urging the pivotal arm and the operating stud toward the contact link. The pivot bearing and the operating stud are spaced from one another such that in the unoperated state the operating stud is in contact with the contact link and the pivot bearing is situated laterally adjacent the contact link relative to the directions of displacement of the operating device.

An electrical switch includes a switch casing having an open side; a plunger received in the switch casing and projecting through the open side; a guide defined in the switch casing for guiding the plunger to perform sliding motions in response to an external force exerted thereon; a switching mechanism accommodated in the switch casing for cooperating with the plunger to make or break an electric contact in response to a sliding displacement of the plunger; a lid closing the open side of the switch casing; a sealing arrangement for sealingly securing the lid to the switch casing; and a bell-shaped resilient bellows formed on the lid as an integral part thereof. The bellows projects outwardly from the open side and sealingly surrounds the plunger.
