A motor vehicle headlight element is specified which has at least one light-emitting diode and at least one control apparatus. The control apparatus is suitable for processing a signal which is dependent on a measurement variable and for applying a current, corresponding to the signal, to the light-emitting diode. The control apparatus and the light-emitting diode are arranged on a common mount.

An illumination unit for vehicle headlights may include a light-emitting diode device, a housing and an assembly board on which components of an operating circuit for operating the light-emitting diode device are arranged, wherein the housing and the assembly board define an interior space, wherein the assembly board has at least one electrically conductive inner layer that is connected to a ground reference potential of the operating circuit and on its surface the assembly board has at least one electrical contact surface which is contacted with at least one electrically conductive inner layer, and the housing has an electromagnetic shielding structure configured to provide electromagnetic shielding of the interior space, wherein the electromagnetic shielding structure is connected to the at least one electrical contact surface.

Arrangement for cooling semiconductor light sources and floodlight having this arrangement

A semiconductor light module comprising: integrated drive electronics, a semiconductor light source applied to a disk-shaped module, the surface of which is electrically conductive, and wherein the module has good thermal conductivity. The drive electronics are positioned around the semiconductor light source, and the drive electronics comprise a circuit board having at least first and second conductor track levels. The first track level is oriented outward in the light emission direction in the installed state, and the second track level is enclosed by a closed cavity incorporated into the module. Ground-carrying lines of the circuit board are electrically connected to the surface of the module.

Semiconductor light module

A motor vehicle headlight element is specified which has at least one light-emitting diode and at least one control apparatus. The control apparatus is suitable for processing a signal which is dependent on a measurement variable and for applying a current corresponding to the signal, to the light-emitting diode. An illumination system has at least two light sources of which at least one light source includes an LED, and a driver device designed to operate at least the one LED with a DC signal; a sensor device for determining at least one feature of the light output; an actual value storage device connected to the sensor device for storing an actual value of the feature; a setpoint selection device for storing a setpoint of the feature; and a control device connected on the input side to the actual value storage device for of transmitting the actual value, and to the setpoint selection device for transmitting the setpoint, and which provides the driver device with a control signal that changes a characteristic of the DC signal used for driving the LED such that the actual value approaches the setpoint.

Illumination system having at least two light sources, and a method for operating such an illumination system

A description is given of an illumination device which emits mixed-color light containing light of at least two different color channels (R, RG, GB, B). The illumination device contains at least one primary light source () of a first color, the light of which forms a first color channel (R, RG, GB, B), and at least one primary light source () of a second color, the light of which forms a second color channel (R, RG, GB, B), at least one sensor device (), which is positioned such that it can receive mixed-color light and is suitable for detecting brightness of light of a wavelength range comprising the color channels (R, RG, GB, B) and which determines the brightnesses of the different color channels (R, RG, GB, B) separately and repeatedly during operation. Furthermore, the illumination device contains an evaluation and control device (), which evaluates the brightness values of the color channels (R, RG, GB, B) and determines pulse-width-modulated electrical signals with a basic period () modified in such a way for the driving of the individual color channels (R, RG, GB, B) in such a way that the color location of the mixed-color light lies within a predetermined region of the CIE standard chromaticity diagram. A method is also described for controlling such an illumination device.

Illumination device and control method

Drive circuit for at least one LED strand, with a switch being arranged in series with each LED strand and with each LED strand having a supply connection via which it can be connected to a supply voltage, in which case each switch can be driven so as to allow a current to flow in the associated LED strand, having a first control loop which is designed to drive the switch of the at least one LED strand such that an adjustable mean value is achieved for the current flowing through the LED strand, with the drive circuit also having: a second control loop which is designed to provide a supply voltage for the at least one LED strand as a function of the peak value of the current flowing through the at least one LED strand.

Drive circuit for at least one LED strand

A drive circuit for an LED array comprises a first LED cluster and at least one second LED cluster. A control loop is designed to drive a switch of the first LED cluster so as to achieve a constant mean value of the current (I) flowing through the first LED cluster the control loop being designed for also driving switches of the further LED clusters. The drive circuit also comprises a total current detection device (R) with the aid of which it is possible to determine an actual magnitude (U) which corresponds to the sum of the currents through at least two of the second LED cluster. A comparison unit compares the actual magnitude (U) with a predefinable desired magnitude (U)

Drive circuit for an LED array

A drive circuit for an LED array, comprising at least two clusters of LEDs, in which one cluster comprises a number of LEDs arranged in series which are connected to a supply voltage (U ), with a semiconductor switch (T) being arranged in series between each LED cluster and the associated supply voltage, which semiconductor switch (T) allows the LED current to be supplied in a pulsed manner, with a measurement resistor (R ) being arranged in series with the LEDs in the path for the forward current I between the LEDs and ground. A control loop controls the semiconductor switch (T ) in a first LED cluster, referred to as the master cluster in the following text, such that a constant mean value of the LED current is achieved, wherein the master cluster has a predetermined number X of LEDs in its cluster, and with this control loop also driving at least the semiconductor switch (T ) in a further, LED cluster, referred to in the following text as the slave cluster.

Control circuit for LED and corresponding operating method

The drive circuit is suitable for an LED array, comprising a number of clusters of LEDs, with one cluster comprising a number of LEDs which are arranged in series and are connected to a supply voltage (U ). A semiconductor switch (transistor T) is arranged in series between the LED and the supply voltage and allows the LED current to be supplied in a pulsed manner. A measurement resistor (R ) for measuring the LED current is arranged in series between the LED and ground, with a control loop controlling the semiconductor switch such that a constant mean value of the LED current is achieved.

An optoelectronic component group has at least two LEDs ( ) which are mounted on a support ( ). The support is composed of a material having a thermal conductivity of better than 1.5 W/K&times;m, for example ceramic or composite material.
