A resiliently deformable toy ball which is soft and supple and provides an intriguing relaxing feeling when squeezed, and which possesses a low rebound percentage due to its resiliently deformable nature. The ball has a highly plasticized polymeric core which is resiliently deformable due to its highly plasticized state. The polymeric core is encased in a flexible polymer shell and both the core and the flexible shell are further encased in a strechable fabric outer cover.

A resiliently deformable toy ball which is soft and supple and provides an intriguing relaxing feeling when squeezed, and which possesses a low rebound percentage due to its resliently deformable nature. The ball has a highly plasticized PVC core which is resiliently deformable due to its highly plasticized state. The PVC core is encased in a flexible polymer shell and both the core and the flexible shell are further encased in a stretchable fabric outer cover.

Toy ball

A method of making a permanently attached doll wig integrating a high pile, backed piece of material and strands of synthetic doll hair rooted through both the material and the doll head. Initially, the material is attached to the doll head pile side down by a line of stitching. The material is then folded over and held in place by an adhesive and permanently secured by rooting strands of synthetic doll hair through both the material and the doll head. Rooting some synthetic doll hair directly into the doll head adjacent to, but beyond, the edges of the material, obscures the edges.

Method of making a permanent doll wig

A toy horse figure with a generally hollow body of plastic is provided with a soft flexible mane and tail. The flexible strands of the mane are secured to a foldable membrane, adjacent to, but inward of, a relief decorated edge along each foldable side. When compressed and inserted into an elongated slot formed by recesses in mating shells of the body the decorated relief obscures both the opening and the attachment of the flexible strand. Posts used to secure mating shell halves of the body pass through apertures in the foldable membrane to secure it against removal. For the tail, flexible strands are inserted into an opening in a compressible grommet which in turn is inserted into an opening formed in the body with a decorated relief on the outer flange obscuring the opening and the attachment of the tail strands.

Toy figures with flexible hair inserts

A playset for use in and out of water includes a seahorse figurine with long rooted mane hair and a coral corral. The seahorse figurine has a relatively watertight upper body and a rotatably connected lower tail portion. A weight is positioned in the tail so that rotation of the tail orients the angular position of the figurine when it is floating in water. Vents are provided in the tail for displacement of air. The coral corral floates in the water with a substantial portion, including provisions for accessories for the care of the figurine, above the water level. Alternatively, the corral may be placed on a table or other flat surface when it also provides support for the seahorse figurine.

Toy figurine and environment playset

An amusement device of the present invention comprises a bank constructed in the form of a plush doll having a coin insert aperture in the facial area, such as the mouth, leading to an internal coin receptacle. A pawl and ratchet mechanism is disposed within the doll to prevent coins inserted in the doll from completely entering the coin receptacle until the pawl and ratchet mechanism is manually activated by pushing or squeezing a predetermined area of the doll, thereby rotating a ratchet wheel to force the coins into the coin receptacle and simultaneously causing pivotal movement of a face distorting member so that it appears as if the doll is chewing the coin.

Plush bank

A figure toy is disclosed including apparatus for retaining the eyes alternatively in an eye open position or an eye closed position. The toy includes eyeball means disposed behind eyeball openings in the head and are longitudinally moveable with respect to the toy to an eye open position or an eye closed position and means are provided for longitudinally moving the eyeball means alternatively to an eye open position or an eye closed position. The eyeball means are mechanically retained in an eye open position until the bladder, forming the body portion of the doll, is compressed thereby expanding a bellows to longitudinally move the eyeball means to a position above or below the eye openings in the doll's head to simulate an eye closed position. When the eyeball means are in an eye closed position, a pin member or other retaining means can be inserted into the doll's mouth to engage a pin receiving member structurally connected to the eyeball means to maintain the eyeball means in the eye closed position until the pin member is removed from the mouth. When the pin or other retaining means is removed, the eyeball means will revert to its naturally biased longitudinal position to again simulate an eye open position.

Animated doll

A method and apparatus for making doll clothing and doll house accessories includes a plurality of mold shapes or forms which are used to produce various articles of attire such as dresses, pants, and doll house furnishings such as cushions, curtains, rugs, flowers and many other items. Each of the garment molds may include detachable portions, such as the arms, to facilitate removing a finished article from the mold itself. The doll house accessories are made in generally flat molds which provide the texture and shape of the finished item. A viscous, liquid plastic is applied to the exterior surface of the mold by a brush or other tool to cover the exterior of the mold which defines the particular article. The liquid coating sets or solidifies to form a flexible article adapting the contours of the mold. The garment is then removed from the exterior of the mold.

Method and apparatus for making doll clothing and doll house accessories

A doll having a hollow body and a head is provided with a cap supported for movement on top of the head. A liquid reservoir is provided within the hollow body having a flexible wall to provide for pumping action and a conduit extends between the reservoir and an outlet adjacent the cap for directing a stream of liquid against the cap to move the cap on the doll's head when the flexible wall is depressed inwardly.

Doll with water activated shower cap

An articulated doll including an internal arrangement for allowing the doll to sit down from a standing position without the assistance of the doll user. With the doll in a standing position and the arms upright, the user rotates the arms to a down position and then releases the arms. After a predetermined time interval, the internal arrangement of the doll causes the doll to move from the standing position to a sitting position. When the doll is returned to a standing position, a control mechanism located on the doll torso is actuated to lock the legs of the doll to a standing position. The doll is also capable of being walked by the user holding the doll by the arms and alternately lifting one leg and then the other off the walking surface. The leg lifted from the walking surface pivots and the doll takes a step.

Sitting doll

A doll having the appearance and physical characteristics of a new born baby includes a hollow body and head interconnected at the neck and a hollow sealed bladder is mounted in the head having a smaller volume and a flexible wall portion secured to an inside surface. The hollow bladder is filled with a plurality of discrete, particles such as sand grains or beans flowable and movable freely about within the bladder to change the shape and change the center of gravity of the doll's head when the body or head is moved. Similarly, another body bladder is mounted in the hollow body with a volume somewhat less than the volume of the body and this bladder is formed with a flexible wall and filled with similar discrete, flowable particles so that the center of gravity of the doll's body is changed as the body or head is moved. Thus, the doll of the present invention feels and handles like a real-life, young baby.

Baby doll

The present invention provides an inflatable toy vehicle including a main housing or chassis supported by a plurality of rotatably mounted wheels for peripherally engaging a suitable surface. A rear cargo portion includes a plurality of apertures or windows and encloses a flexible, inflatable sack. Collapsible portions of the sack adjacent the windows are decorated and formed to appear as animal heads so that internal pressure will cause the formed portions to expand outwardly and take the predetermined shape. A pump in the form of a bellows is provided in the front portion or cab of the vehicle and operated by manually reciprocating a figure mounted on the top thereof for inflating the sack.

Toy vehicle

An amusement set (for use particularly by children) comprises a carrying case including a pair of mating, hollow housing members pivotally connected along one edge to open and close around a peripheral seam line of each member. Each of the housing members includes internal wall structure defining a plurality of rooms at different levels and a hollow elevator shaft is mounted in coaxial alignment with the axis of pivotal interconnection between the housing members to extend between the different room levels. Openings are provided in the elevator shaft walls at different levels and an elevator is provided for manual movement up and down within the shaft between the different room levels. The amusement set includes a plurality of toy figurines which represent fictional play characters such as bugs and/or insects. The upper walls of the housing members are formed to resemble the surface of the ground and a plurality of openings are provided for access to the rooms within the housing members from the top. The underground rooms provide play spaces for the bug or insect-like characters. At the upper end, the elevator shaft is provided with a sewer-like grate which opens and closes access to the shaft from ground level and several of the openings provided in the upper walls of the housing members provide a holding space for hollow enclosures which are insertable therein for holding the play characters. These hollow enclosures are shaped and decorated to resemble growing vegetables or the like in a garden and a novel handle for the carrying case also shaped and decorated to resemble growing plant-life is provided.

Amusement set

An amusement device provides a skating rink for use with figure toys or the like. The amusement device includes a plurality of rotatable disc-shaped rink portions mounted on the base adjacent a panoramic setting. The setting includes a recirculating device which receives the figure toys from one end of the rink and elevates the figure toys to a chute which delivers the figure toys generally to a position at the opposite end of the rink. A ski lift mechanism including a plurality of chairs is adapted to carry the various figure toys at an elevated position over the top of the rink. A common linkage drives the rotatable rink portions, the recirculating system, and the ski lift mechanism.

Amusement device

A device and method for use in the art or craft of molding hollow artistic objects from thermoplastic molding material, such as wax. The molding device includes a frame with a vertical stationary, circular gear rack secured thereto. A crank driven shaft is journaled through the frame in a position concentric with the rack. A yoke-like mold carrier is secured to the end of the shaft for rotation therewith. A mold holder is, in turn, mounted on the mold carrier for rotation about an axis generally perpendicular to the crank shaft axis between the yoke arms of the mold carrier. The mold holder has a shaft projecting through one of the yoke arms of the mold carrier and is secured to and driven with a disc gear, which is enmeshed with the gear rack. As the crank is turned to rotate the mold carrier, the disc gear rides on the gear rack and rotates the mold holder. In operation, a mold in the form of a pair of mating mold halves providing a mold cavity is supplied with molten thermoplastic material, assembled, and mounted on the mold holder. Turning of the crank causes the mold to be rotated on the two generally perpendicular axes and generally evenly distributes the thermoplastic material on the interior of the mold cavity surface as it cools and sets.
