A cable compression die assembly is used in connection with a compression tool for compressing a stranded cable prior to crimping. The cable compression die assembly includes a pair of cable compression die heads for receiving a stranded cable and a cable connector therebetween. The pair of cable compression die heads defines a hexagonal shaped opening therebetween and is adapted to substantially close the hexagonal shaped opening as the die heads move towards one another.

One embodiment relates to a cable connector. The cable connector includes a body having a forward end and a rearward end opposite the forward end, a post disposed at least partially within the body, a fastener coupled to the forward end of the body, and a compressible member disposed on an outer surface of the body. The post includes a flange portion extending radially from a forward end of the post. The fastener is axially movable between a forward position and a rearward position, and wherein the fastener comprises an interior surface configured to contact the flange portion of the post when the fastener is in the forward position. The compressible member is configured to force the fastener toward the forward position such that the interior surface of the fastener provides a continuous pressure against the flange of the post when the fastener is in the forward position.

Cable connector

A coaxial cable connector for coupling a coaxial cable to a mating connector includes a connector body having a forward end and a rearward cable receiving end for receiving the cable. A nut is rotatably coupled to the forward end of the connector body. An annular post is disposed within the connector body, the post having a forward flanged base portion disposed within a rearward extent of the nut, the forward flanged base portion having a forward face. A biasing element is attached to the forward flanged base portion of the post and includes a deflectable portion extending outwardly in a forward direction beyond the forward face of the post shoulder portion.

A terminal assembly is provided for terminating a center conductor of a coaxial cable. The terminal assembly includes a terminal body having a pin at one end and a cavity at the other end for accommodating a center conductor therein. A contact member is supported within the cavity. The contact member includes plural inwardly directed cantilevered beams extending from a contact base for deflectable engagement with the inserted center conductor. The terminal body includes an inwardly directed shoulder for engagement with the beams at a location between the base and the distal ends of the beams. The location defines a deflection fulcrum at a location distal from the base so as to provide increased contact engagement force between the distal ends of the beams and the center conductor.

A coaxial cable connector generally includes a connector body, a nut rotatably coupled to the connector body, a post disposed in the connector body and a biasing element acting between the post and the nut. The nut has an internal thread for engagement with an external thread of a mating connector. The internal thread of the nut and the external thread of the mating connector can be mismatched, wherein an interference fit is created therebetween upon connection of the nut to the mating connector. Also, the post can have a forward flanged base portion disposed within the axial length of the internally threaded surface of the nut, which, together with the biasing element, provides a constant force between the post and the nut.

A coaxial cable connector includes a terminal pin secured in a nut by an insulator inserted in a half-spool retainer, a cylindrical housing connected to the half-spool retainer that receives a terminal post having a flanged first end and a cylindrical body with an axial bore, a metal ferrule, a plastic sleeve and a retaining ring. The ferrule is positioned over the body of the terminal post to form an annular space, the plastic sleeve fits over the ferrule and the retaining ring fits into the end of the plastic sleeve. The center conductor of a prepared coaxial cable is inserted into the axial bore of the terminal post and the outer conductor is positioned in the annular space. The retaining ring is pressed into the plastic sleeve to connect the center conductor to the terminal pin, collapse the ferrule to form an electrical connection between the outer conductor and the housing through the metal ferrule and secure the coaxial cable and plastic sleeve in the housing.

Hardline connector

A coaxial cable connector for coupling a coaxial cable to a mating connector includes a connector body having a forward end and a rearward cable receiving end for receiving a cable. A nut is rotatably coupled to the forward end of the connector body. An annular post is disposed within the connector body, the annular post having a forward flanged base portion located adjacent a rearward portion of the nut. An annular notch is formed in the forward flanged base portion. A biasing element is retained in the annular notch, and the biasing element extends towards a forward end of the nut in an uncompressed state.

A cable connector configured to couple a cable to another connector or piece of video or audio equipment may include a connector body, a nut, an annular post and a biasing element. The connector body may include a forward end and a rearward end, where the forward end is configured to connect to the second connector and the rearward end is configured to receive a coaxial cable. The nut may be rotatably coupled to the forward end of the connector body and the annular post may be disposed within the connector body. The annular post may also include an annular notch located at the forward end of the connector body. The biasing element may be located in the annular notch.

A coaxial cable connector for coupling a coaxial cable to a mating connector includes a connector body having a forward end and a rearward cable receiving end for receiving a cable. A nut is rotatably coupled to the forward end of the connector body. An annular post is disposed within the connector body, the post having a forward flanged base portion disposed within a rearward extent of the nut, the forward flanged base portion having a forward face. A biasing element is attached to the forward flanged base portion of the post and includes a deflectable portion extending outwardly in a forward direction beyond the forward face of the post shoulder portion.

A coaxial cable connector which includes a back nut housing having a rearward cable receiving end and a forward end opposite the rearward end, a front nut assembly coupled to the forward end of the back nut housing, a tubular insert shaft supported within the back nut housing, a tubular gripping ferrule radially surrounding the insert shaft and a tubular holder sleeve radially surrounding at least a portion of the gripping ferrule. The axial movement of the holder sleeve causes the gripping ferrule to radially compress around the insert shaft. The insert shaft has a rearward end and an axial slot extending from the rearward end in a forward direction, wherein the slot permits the rearward end of the insert shaft to radially compress upon the radial compression of the gripping ferrule to make removal of a cable from the connector easier.

A coaxial cable connector includes a connector body having a rearward cable receiving end, a locking sleeve movably coupled within the rearward cable receiving end of the connector body for locking the cable in the connector and a gripping ferrule disposed between the connector body and the locking sleeve. The gripping ferrule includes axially opposite gripping ends which move in a radially inward direction upon compression between the locking sleeve and the connector body to grip the outer surface of the cable.
