A system, method and computer program product for archiving image, audio, and text data with metadata encapsulation in a client-server storage library is described. The server receives and holds the images, audio, or text to be archived in an image, audio or text logical partition which includes a directory of the images, audio, or text. The information is encapsulated in a metadata wrapper and stored in the library as a closed image, audio, or text file along with a closed copy of the directory. The closed image, audio, or text directory is also stored in the client. The images may be encapsulated in MXF, DICOM, Tape Archive (TAR) or GZIP formats. The storage library may have magnetic tapes, magnetic disks or optical disks as storage media.

Client-server multimedia archiving system with metadata encapsulation

The inventive concepts presented herein relate to methods of identifying molecules identification of molecules using apparatuses including: electromagnetic write-head(s); magneto-resistive read sensor(s), and processor(s). An exemplary method includes scanning one or more of a plurality of biosample tracks of a biosample substrate using an electromagnetic write-head to magnetically excite one or more molecules of interest using an alternating magnetic field. The one or more molecules of interest are disposed on one or more of the biosample tracks. A resonant response of the one or more molecules of interest is measured using a magneto-resistive sensor. The resonant response is compared to a table of known resonant responses to identify the one or more molecules of interest.

Identification of molecules based on frequency responses using electromagnetic write-heads and magneto-resistive sensors

Described are embodiments of an invention for a sample assembly with an electrical conductor for detection of the antigens by electromagnetic read heads. In one embodiment, a sample assembly includes: a substrate; one or more base layers above the substrate; an outer layer above the substrate; a plurality of sample trenches formed in the outer layer, each sample trench being characterized by an upper surface, a bottom surface, and a longitudinal axis; an electrical conductor disposed in the substrate, the electrical conductor being configured to generate an electromagnetic field in proximity to the plurality of sample trenches to enhance nanoparticle movement toward the bottom surface of the plurality of sample trenches; and at least one alignment trench formed above the substrate, each alignment trench having a longitudinal axis substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of at least one of the sample trenches.

Sample assembly with an electromagnetic field to accelerate the bonding of target antigens and nanoparticles

The inventive concepts presented herein relate to methods of identifying molecules identification of molecules using apparatuses including: electromagnetic write-head(s); magneto-resistive read sensor(s), and processor(s). An exemplary method includes magnetically exciting a molecule to be identified using an alternating magnetic field generated by an electromagnetic write-head, measuring a resonant response of the molecule to be identified using a magneto-resistive read sensor; and comparing, using a processor, the resonant response of the molecule to be identified with a table of known resonant responses to identify a chemical composition of the molecule to be identified. The molecule to be identified may optionally be disposed on a biosample substrate which comprises, or is coupled to, a plurality of servo-alignment marks; and the plurality of servo-alignment marks are configured to facilitate alignment of the electromagnetic write-head with the biosample tracks of the biosample substrate.

Various embodiments for processing data in a data deduplication system are provided. For data segments previously deduplicated by the data deduplication system, a supplemental hot-read link is established for those of the data segments determined to be read on at least one of a frequent and recently used basis. Other system and computer program product embodiments are disclosed and provide related advantages.

Enhancing data retrieval performance in deduplication systems

Various embodiments for processing data in a data deduplication system are provided. In one embodiment, a method for processing such data is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes creating a cartridge memory (CM) database accessible via a storage cloud, the CM database storing information corresponding to a plurality of data storage cartridges that are configured to store data that is accessible by one or more data storage drives located in one or more data storage libraries. The method also includes storing information corresponding to each of the plurality of data storage cartridges to separate entries in the CM database, the information being selected from a group including: a history of read errors for each data storage cartridge that occurred during reading of the data storage cartridge, which data storage drive was used for writing data to each data storage cartridge, and a temperature and humidity within each data storage library, within each data storage cartridge, and within a data storage drive at a time when a data storage cartridge was written.

Library apparatus including a cartridge memory (CM) database stored on a storage cloud

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to methods of storing and using biosamples with a cartridge that includes slots for storing biosample capillary tubes. The methods include providing access to a holder inside an enclosure of the cartridge, the enclosure having a same form factor as a data tape cartridge used in an automated tape library. The holder is configured to receive a plurality of capillary tubes in the holder, the capillary tubes including one or more biosamples. Exemplary methods may also include receiving capillary tubes in the cartridge, withdrawing capillary tubes from the cartridge, scanning and/or analyzing the capillary tubes and/or biosamples. Exemplary methods may additionally or alternatively include retrieving the cartridge from a storage slot of the automated tape library, loading the cartridge onto a drive of the automated tape library, and/or receiving and/or exporting a cartridge to/from the automated tape library via a mail slot.

Cartridge for storing biosample capillary tubes and use in automated data storage systems

The invention relates to the identification of molecules using an apparatus which includes: a head module comprising: an electromagnetic write-head configured to magnetically excite the molecule to be identified with an alternating magnetic field; and a magneto-resistive read sensor for measuring a resonant response of the magnetically excited molecule to be identified. The apparatus also includes a processor coupled to the magneto-resistive sensor, the processor being configured to compare the resonant response to a table of known resonant responses to identify a chemical composition of the molecule to be identified.

In one embodiment, a system includes a storage cloud comprising storage media, a cartridge memory (CM) database stored to the storage media, and a storage controller, wherein the storage controller is configured to communicate with one or more data storage drives located in one or more data storage libraries, each data storage drive being configured to write and/or read data to/from a plurality of data storage cartridges therein, and control the one or more data storage libraries as a single logical library, wherein the CM database includes a plurality of entries, each entry corresponding to a data storage cartridge. In another embodiment, the data storage cartridge includes a data storage medium configured to store more than about 100 MB of data, a physical CM configured to store less than about 100 KB of data, and a visible indicator displayed on an exterior of the housing.

A method for identifying conditions that correlate with one ore more events related to operation of a power grid. The method includes the determining one or more distinguishing characteristics of a first chunk. The first chunk includes data elements relevant to operating a power grid. The method also includes determining whether a distinguishing characteristic of the first chunk correlates with a distinguishing characteristic of one or more of a plurality of second chunks. Each second chunk includes a plurality of data elements corresponding with the data of the first chunk. The method further includes determining whether a second chunk, having a distinguishing characteristic equivalent to a distinguishing characteristic of the first chunk, is associated with the one or more events. In addition, the method includes determining whether a second chunk, having an association with the one or more events and a distinguishing characteristic equivalent to a distinguishing characteristic of the first chunk, is substantially identical to the first chunk.

Power grid data monitoring and control

Various embodiments for differentiating between data and stubs pointing to a parent copy of deduplicated data. Undeduplicated data is stored with a checksum of an initial value. A stub pointing to the parent copy of the deduplicated data is stored with an additional checksum of a differing, additional initial value.

For authorizing removable medium access, a reassembly module retrieves a medium portion of an encryption key from a removable medium. The encryption key encrypts encrypted data stored on the removable medium and includes a plurality of portions. The reassembly module further retrieves the user portion of the encryption key assigned to a user requesting the removable medium. The reassembly module reassembles the encryption key using at least the medium portion and the user portion of the plurality of portions. The decryption module decrypts the encrypted data with the reassembled encryption key.
