Hand-held tyre scanner

A fluid extraction device is provided for extracting fluid from a syringe assembly including a syringe port and a sleeve. The device includes a body with first and second ends, the first end defining a fluid entry port, and the second end defining a fluid exit port. A channel through the body connects the fluid entry and fluid exit ports. At least one push member extends radially from the body and is configured to contact the sleeve of the syringe assembly in use such to push it from a first position in which the sleeve closes the syringe port to a second position in which the sleeve exposes the syringe port.

Module for a sharps retraction device

A device for inserting an infusion cannula, or sensor, into a patient is presented. The device comprises an insertion needle removable within the infusion cannula, a handle connected to the insertion needle, and a needle cover. The needle cover pivotably mounted on the handle is rotatably movable between a first position, i.e., the front of the insertion needle is in the needle cover, and a second position, i.e., the front is exposed. An infusion site interface comprises a body mounted on a pad attached to the patient; an infusion cannula for inserting into the patient that is connected to the body; a cavity within the body fluidly connected to the cannula; and a septum that seals closed the cavity. The septum is penetrable by an insertion needle in the infusion cannula and by a hollow needle of an infusion tubing connector coupled to the infusion site interface.

Fluid dispenser

A medical device comprising an outer housing () having a first wall () defining a first passage () with proximal and distal ends. A retraction housing () is slidably received in the first passage (), the retraction housing () having proximal and distal ends and a wall with an interior surface wall defining a helical path (). Part of the device includes a carriage () for releasably receiving a medical sharp (), the carriage () slidably received in the distal end of the retraction housing (). A latch means () is present for retaining the carriage () in a first position in the retraction housing (). A follower () is connected to the carriage () and engaged with the helical path (). A stored energy device () is connected to the follower () and the carriage (). An actuation means () is operable to move the retraction housing () towards the distal end of the first passage (), thereby to release the latch means () such that the stored energy device () is operable to drive the follower () along the helical path () and to retract the carriage () towards the proximal end of the retraction housing ().

Dispensing device

A device for dispensing a substance having a dispensing outlet, a dispensing member mounted for movement in a dispensing direction U from a first position to a second position, such movement, in use, causing the substance to be dispensed from the dispensing outlet, and an actuator mechanism for moving the dispensing member from the first position to the second position. The actuator mechanism has a first member mounted for movement in a predetermined direction and a second member pivotally mounted on the first member for pivotal movement in a predetermined pivotal sense A. The actuator mechanism is adapted such that movement of the first member in the predetermined direction results in the second member moving therewith and pivoting in the predetermined pivotal sense and the pivotal movement of the second member in the predetermined pivotal sense results in the dispensing member moving from the first position to the second position.

One aspect of the invention provides a component for a fluid dispenser which defines a dosing chamber for a piston member to stroke in and has an end adapted for engaging a fluid outlet of the fluid dispenser or a seal which overlies the fluid outlet to selectively close and open the fluid outlet or seal. Other aspects are disclosed herein.

A connecting element for establishing a frictional connection with a neck portion of a liquid container, like a vial. The connecting element may include a basic structure and contact elements connected with the basic structure that provide contact surfaces for contacting the neck portion. The contact surfaces may be configured to form a receiving space for receiving the neck portion. The receiving space can be enlarged by moving apart the contact surfaces.

An inhaler is provided with a restricting member to prevent unintentional actuation of the inhaler. Also provided is an inhaler with an extensible strap joining a dust cap to the housing of an inhaler, the strap being particularly suited for use with inhalers that comprise a restricting member. The inhaler is useful, for example, in the treatment of asthma.

An inhaler is provided with a closure which may be moved between a closed and open position in order to cover and uncover a mouthpiece. The closure is associated with a revolvable element including a restricting member. Movement of the closure from the open position to the closed position causes the revolvable element to revolve around an axis X thereby placing the restricting member in a restricting position which restricts relative movement between a container unit and the housing such that unintentional actuation of the inhaler is prevented. The inhaler is useful, for example, in the treatment of asthma.
