Embodiments herein provide a method for handling a RRC re-establishment procedure in a wireless network by a network apparatus. The method includes detecting a radio link failure at a UE in the wireless network; receiving an RRC re-establishment request message from the UE; sending a downlink RRC re-establishment message and facilitating the allocation of an uplink grant to the UE; receiving a RRC re-establishment complete message from the UE on the allocated uplink grant resource. The method can be used to improve RRC re-establishment procedure completion time by efficient provisions of UL grant allocation to send a RRC Re-EstablishmentComplete. Using the disclosed method, there is drastic signaling reduction/resource wastage during the RRE procedure, thereby resulting in power saving of the UE and the network apparatus.

Method and system to enhance RRC re-establishment procedure in NR access network

A method of detecting an uplink signal in a communication network is provided. The method includes setting a current detection threshold in an allowable range of uplink detection thresholds for detection of a plurality of uplink signals for a predetermined time period, identifying a plurality of candidate detection thresholds in a predetermined window centered around the current detection threshold at a first layer for detection of the plurality of uplink signals, identifying an optimal detection threshold among the plurality of candidate detection threshold based on identifying whether the plurality of uplink signals are detected correctly at a second layer, and applying the optimal detection threshold at the first layer as the current detection threshold for the detection of the plurality of uplink signals, wherein the first layer comprises a physical (PHY) layer, and wherein the second layer comprises a medium access control (MAC) layer.

System and method for cross-layer optimization of uplink detection thresholds

In an example embodiment, a method of reducing SR max retransmissions in a communication network is disclosed. The method includes: accessing an SR max retransmission UE pool stored in a storage of the base station, the SR max retransmission UE pool being a list of plurality of UEs which experienced SR max retransmission. The method further includes identifying at least one UE in the SR max retransmission pool that would enter an SR max retransmission state, based on a last PUSCH uplink time period and a SR max retransmission time period associated with the at least one UE. Further, the method includes allocating a dummy UL grant to the identified at least one UE.
