A modular cable backplane assembly for high-speed interconnection of digital electrical components in Field Replaceable Units, FRUs, () mounted in an equipment rack (). A vertical stack of a plurality of parallel horizontal cable connector carrying trays () is mounted within a rigid chassis (). The trays provide electrical component connector pins on a front side and high-speed data and power cable connectors on a back side thereof. At least one enclosed vertical channel () is attached to the vertical stack of horizontal plates () for protectively routing cables to the cable connector carrying trays. Vertical spacing of the cable connector carrying trays enables cooling fans () mounted on the rigid chassis to provide unimpeded front-to-back airflow over the FRUs (). The cable backplane assembly may be removed and replaced as a unit, and may be upgraded, in situ, from copper to optical connections.

Assembly for high-speed interconnection of digital electrical components

An electrical discharge device including an array of spring-load electrical contacts, said contacts electrically coupled to a multiplexer and a programmable power supply; a processor, said processor coupled to the power supply and the multiplexer; a memory, coupled to said processor, said memory including non-transitory, processor instructions operable to direct the processor to perform a method including measuring relative resistance between each pair of said electrical contacts, and applying a pre-determined electrical discharge to a pair of the electrical contacts in response to said measuring. Embodiment includes applying at least a portion of the electrical contacts to human skin substantially near an acupoint wherein said pair of electrical contacts is the pair having the least resistance between them.

Wearable situational stress management device

A Cost-Reduced Enterprise Server (CRES) system includes a flexible resource-efficient server having a plurality of Processor Memory Boards (PMBs) coupled to an Input/Output Module (IOM). The IOM provides all networking and storage interfaces for the server. The IOM is implemented as a field-replaceable pluggable module, and thus all Input/Output (I/O) capabilities or resources of a CRES system may be upgraded via replacement of the IOM. Each PMB is dividable into a pair of Symmetric MultiProcessor (SMP) complexes, and each complex is coupled to a respective portion of the I/O resources provided by the IOM. Each portion of the IOM provides a pair of I/O daughter-module connectors compatible with standard I/O interfaces, such as Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI)-X and PCI-Express. One or more CRES systems may be coupled to one or more Enterprise Server (ES) systems to form a multi-chassis server managed collectively as one or more provisioned servers.

Fabric-backplane enterprise servers with pluggable I/O sub-system

A fan tray for a network element that is installable and removable from the front and back of a network element. The fan tray includes one or more fans in a housing to provide cooling for the network element, an engagement rod with ends that protrude out a front and back of the housing, a first engagement lever at one end of the engagement rod and a second engagement lever at an opposite end of the engagement rod, the first and second engagement levers are movable between an unlocked and locked position and movement is tied together, a gearing mechanism coupled to the engagement rod to translate rotational force applied to the engagement levers into linear force to extend and withdraw a backplane connector assembly coupled to the gearing mechanism. The backplane connector assembly includes a backplane connector to engage and disengage with a fan tray connector of a backplane of the network element in a plane perpendicular to the installation plane of the fan tray according to movement of the engagement levers responsive to the engagement levers respectively moving to the locked and unlocked position.
