A pulley assembly for a compound archery bow comprises an axle, a draw cable pulley, and a pair of split-buss let-out pulleys positioned on opposite sides of the draw cable pulley. Each secondary cable of a split-buss end of a power cable is wound in a spiral arrangement around a corresponding split-buss let-out pulley. As the bow is drawn, the pulley assembly rotates, the draw cable pulley lets out a draw cable, and each split-buss let-out pulley lets out the corresponding secondary cable. The spiral arrangement results in lateral movement, away from the draw cable pulley, of a contact point of the corresponding secondary power cable on each split-buss let-out pulley as the bow is drawn. The spiral arrangement can include a corresponding spiral groove on each split-buss let-out pulley.

Spiral-wound split-buss let-out mechanism for a compound archery bow

A limb mounting pocket receives butt ends of split limbs of an archery bow. The pocket includes a top wall extending above the butt ends. First and second outer side walls extend from opposite sides of the top wall for engaging outer sides of the butt ends. First and second tabs each have a first end coupled to the lower face of the top wall and having an opposing free end for engaging the inner side walls of the butt ends. An actuating member, which may be a tapered wedge, is disposed between the free ends of the first and second tabs for pushing the first and second tabs generally away from each other and against the inner sides of the butt ends of the limbs to minimize lateral movement thereof.

A bow energy transfer system includes a pair of helically wound springs positioned on the bowstrings on either side of the bowstring nock point; the springs are secured to the bowstring with a serving thread wound between the individual coils into contact with the bowstring. The springs flex perpendicular to their longitudinal axes during discharge of the bow causing energy to temporarily be stored in the flexed spring to be returned to the arrow or bolt later in its discharge.

Bow energy transfer system and method

A crossbow includes an elongated frame coupled to a riser at a first end thereof. The riser supports a pair of flexible limbs, and a bowstring extends between such limbs. A movable bowstring release is used both to retract the bowstring into a drawn position, and to release the bowstring under the operation of a trigger assembly. The bowstring release is initially positioned near the bowstring at rest, and a bowstring hook is engaged therewith. A bowstring retractor includes a retractor rope secured to the bowstring release for retracting the bowstring. An upper housing is secured to the second end of the elongated frame, and supports a rope spool used to wind the retractor rope. The bowstring release is retracted into the upper housing proximate a trigger assembly for selectively releasing the bowstring when a user pulls a trigger.

Release assembly for crossbow

An archery projectile insert is provided with a rigid hollow tube having a collar at one end and an internally threaded bushing at an opposite end wherein the collar and bushing are cemented within the rigid tube; and wherein the three piece insert, formed into a unitary structure, is inserted into the hollow end of an archery shaft and cemented in place. A projectile tip having a shank and a threaded extension threadedly engages the internally threaded bushing to secure the tip in place to the projectile shaft.

Arrow shaft insert

A crossbow has a riser, flexible limbs, a bowstring extending between the tips of the limbs for propelling an arrow, and an elongated frame extending from the riser. A bowstring release proximate the rear end of the elongated frame includes a trigger for releasing the bowstring, and firing an arrow. A first grip is disposed proximate to the trigger for being grasped by the user's first hand. A 'Picatinny' type support rail extends along and below the elongated frame, secured at its rearmost end to the elongated frame, but otherwise spaced therefrom. The support rail can receive fore-grips, a bi-pod, or can be rested against a support surface to help steady the crossbow during firing.

An archery bow system incorporating a bow riser and dual limbs supporting cams or a cam and wheel mounted for rotation about respective axles. The dual limbs are independently adjustable to correct for cam lean and are individually supported in pockets that incorporate variable limb angle attachments to the bow riser. The limbs extend from the riser to flex, when at full draw, to positions that cause the respective axles to initially travel rearward toward the archer upon release of the bowstring. The limbs are adjustably attached to the riser to permit the limb angle with respect to the riser to be changed.

Archery bow system

A pivoting arrow rest is positioned in a support position for contacting and supporting an arrow shaft in a 'ready' position and is rotated by a biasing spring into a recess provided in a riser shelf in response to a triggering event. The biasing spring is contained within the riser.

Integrated fall away arrow rest

A compound archery bow having a riser and first and second limbs secured to and extending from opposite ends of the riser, each limb having an axel to support a wheel or cam; the limbs have a limb tip angle measured from an unstrung or unflexed limb position to a flexed position at brace height of at least 65&#xb0; and preferably 75&#xb0; or more. The bow has an axel-to-axel distance percentage change from an unstrung or unflexed condition to a brace condition of at least 20%. The limbs exhibit a limb tip angle percentage change from brace height to full draw condition of 25% or less of the total limb tip change from unflexed to full draw while the limb tip measured from an unstrung condition to a flexed condition at full draw is at least 80&#xb0; and preferably 100&#xb0; or more.

A crossbow accessory for coupling to a modular lower receiver of a rifle includes an elongated frame coupled to a riser at a first end, and coupled above the lower receiver at its second end. An upper housing secured to the second end of the frame includes a rope spool and winding gears for retracting the bowstring toward a drawn position. A rope extends from the rope spool to a bowstring release for retracting the bowstring. The bowstring release is retracted into the upper housing proximate the modular lower receiver for selectively releasing the bowstring when a user pulls the trigger of the lower receiver. A method for creating a crossbow using the modular lower receiver is also disclosed.

Crossbow accessory for lower receiver of rifle and related method

An archery bow having a riser, a pair of flexible limbs extending from the riser, with each limb having a rotating member on an axel secured to the end thereof. At least one of the rotating members is a cam having a module secured thereto. The module is positionable with respect to the cam by translational movement and is also positionable on the cam with an opposite face against the cam to selectively provide a desired draw length.
