A packaged catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter, a package, and a seal. The urinary catheter has a tube section connected between a proximal end and a distal end, and the proximal end of the urinary catheter is insertable into a urinary bladder. The package contains the urinary catheter and has a proximal compartment section that is removable from a distal section of the package to provide an outlet in the distal section of the package. The seal is arranged between an outer surface of the urinary catheter and an inner surface of the distal section of the package. The seal provides a nearly or truly liquid tight interface between the urinary catheter and the inner surface of the distal section of the package.

Packaged catheter assembly

A urinary catheter is provided as a package, where the package is an enclosed intermittent urinary catheter having a distal section and a proximal section. The distal section includes a urine exit port and the proximal section includes a urine entrance port and has a closed and rounded tip that is adapted to be inserted into a bladder.

Urinary catheter provided as a package

An irrigation system including a reservoir with an inlet adapted to guide liquid into the reservoir, the inlet defining a closure for closing the inlet, an insertion member defining an insertion end sized for insertion into a body cavity of a human being, the insertion member defining at least one opening, and a liquid tube fluidly connecting the reservoir with the insertion member, at least one of the reservoir and the insertion member being permanently fastened to the liquid tube and further including an electrical pump adapted to pump liquid from the reservoir and out through the at least one opening of the insertion member, the electrical pump adapted to be separable from the system.

A catheter insertable into a urethra to drain urine from a bladder includes a tubular portion, a sleeve disposed relative to the tubular portion, with the tubular portion having a bendable zone that is configured to allow the catheter to fold to a compact length. The catheter has a total catheter length measured between an end of a connector that is attachable to a drainage bag and an insertion end of the tubular portion that is insertable into the bladder. The compact length is less than the total catheter length, and the sleeve is operable to support the tubular portion by removing the bend in the bendable zone to thus align the connector axially with the insertion end of the tubular portion.

Catheter with a bendable zone

A catheter includes a proximal section that is inserted into and telescopically movable relative to a distal section. A proximal end of the proximal section is insertable into a urethra of a user and the distal section provides a discharge conduit for urine. The proximal section includes a rear portion, and an exterior surface of the rear portion diverges away from the proximal end to provide a diverging rear transition section that is wider than the proximal end of the proximal section. The distal section includes a front portion and an interior surface of the front portion converges to an opening formed in a front transition end, the opening is narrower than the diverging rear transition section of the proximal section.

Male telescope catheter

A catheter assembly includes a first tubular section and a second tubular section. The first section provides a urinary catheter that is disposed in the second section. The second section has a proximal end with a first opening and a distal end with a second opening. The first opening is adapted for dispensing a proximal end of the urinary catheter out of the proximal end of the second section and the second opening is provided to drain liquid from the urinary catheter through and out of the second section. A sealing obstruction is formed between an inner surface of the second section and an outer surface of the urinary catheter. The sealing obstruction is adapted to form a seal between the distal end portion of the urinary catheter and the proximal end of the second section.

Catheter assembly

A catheter assembly allowing for non-contaminated insertion of the catheter into the urinary canal. The catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter, a catheter package and a sealing member. The urinary catheter defines a conduit and has a proximal end adapted for insertion into the urinary canal and an opposite distal end. The catheter package has a hose with a cavity for accommodation of the catheter, and a catheter outlet adapted to dismantle the proximal end of the catheter from the catheter package. The sealing member is adapted to provide a substantially liquid-tight seal between the catheter package and the urinary catheter while the catheter is being dismantled.

A kit for preparing a medical catheter from catheter sections comprises a tubular protective member surrounding a first, proximal one of the catheter sections. The kit further comprises a joint for interconnecting the catheter sections, the joint defining a substantially liquid tight seal at one end of a substantially annular and longitudinally extending cavity provided between the proximal end portion of the first catheter section and an inner wall of the tubular protective member. Following removal of the tubular protective member, one of the catheter sections is exposed and ready for insertion into the urethra.

Catheter device

An irrigation system for irrigation of a body cavity includes a reservoir, with an inlet for pouring liquid into the reservoir, an insertion member defining an insertion end for insertion into a body cavity through a body opening of a human being, the insertion member defining at least one opening, and a liquid tube fluidly connecting the reservoir with the insertion member. The reservoir has front and rear walls formed of a flexible, non-elastic polymer material, with the walls having edges sealed together. The reservoir has an upper liquid chamber and a lower liquid chamber, with the two chambers being separated by a first one-way valve.

Irrigation system

A catheter assembly is provided. The catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter adapted for insertion into a urethra and a catheter package sized to receive the urinary catheter. The urinary catheter is configured to project from the catheter package to accommodate insertion into the urethra.

An irrigation system comprising: a reservoir with an inlet for pouring liquid into the reservoir, the inlet defining a closing element for closing the inlet; an insertion member defining an insertion end for insertion into a body cavity a human being, the insertion member defining at least one opening; and a liquid tube fluidly connecting the reservoir and having with the insertion member. At least one of reservoir and the insertion member is permanently fastened to the liquid tube.

Irrigation system with a pump

The present invention relates to a catheter, especially an expandable catheter with a transition between the individual sections allowing insertion of the transition into urethra. In particular the present invention relates to a catheter which is operable between a collapsed configuration for storage and transportation and an expanded configuration for draining fluid from a body via a conduit which extends axially in a longitudinal direction from a proximal end to an opposite distal end, the catheter comprising: a proximal section, adapted to be fully inserted into a urinary channel of the body and forming a proximal part of the conduit which part extends axially between the proximal end and a first transition end of the proximal section, and a distal section, adapted to be at least partially inserted into the urinary channel and forming a distal part of the conduit which part extends axially between a second transition end of the distal section and the distal end, an insertable part of the first transition end being dimensioned to enable its positioning inside a receiving portion of the distal part of the conduit to enable axial movement of the sections relative to each other to operate the catheter between the collapsed configuration and the expanded configuration of the catheter, wherein the sections comprise cooperating coupling structures to support the catheter in the expanded configuration.

The present invention relates to a package comprising a container defining a compartment for containing a liquid and at least partly a medical device. The compartment extends in a longitudinal direction from a bottom of the container towards an opening of the container, wherein a first section of the compartment has a cross-sectional area which is smaller than a cross-sectional area of a second section of the compartment, and where the first section is arranged between the opening and the second section. As the cross-sectional area of the first section is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the second section the first section will function as a stop for the liquid in case the container is placed in a horizontal orientation.

Container for medical devices

A catheter assembly with a catheter and a package for a catheter are provided. The package and catheter is provided with a seal that restricts passage of fluid between the package and the catheter. The assembly allows the catheter to be used without complete removal from the package. During urination, the assembly prevents the flow of urine from the outlet of the catheter and back through the package in a direction towards the user of the catheter. The seal allows the catheter to be dispensed from the package while the sealing is maintained and the assembly thus allows non-contaminated insertion and use of the catheter while the catheter is partly maintained in the package.
