A catheter assembly includes a catheter attached to a connector and a package. The catheter has a proximal end sized for insertion into a bladder though a urethra and a distal end opposite of the proximal end. The connector is attached to the distal end of the catheter. The package is sized to receive the catheter and the connector, with the package including an opening sized for removal of the catheter and the connector from the package. A tab is placed over the opening of the package to seal the catheter and the connector inside of the package. An extractor has a first portion connected to the tab and a second portion coupled to the catheter proximal of the connector.

Catheter assembly

A catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter and a package provided to contain the catheter. The catheter has a mid-section connected between a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the catheter is adapted for insertion into a urinary canal and the distal end of the catheter is connected to a seal. The package includes a proximal compartment section that is removable from a distal section of the package to provide an outlet in the distal section of the package. The catheter is adapted to move relative to the distal section of the package such that (a) the seal at the distal end of the catheter slides relative to the distal section of the package and (b) at least the mid-section of the catheter is movable through the outlet in the distal section of the package.

Urinary catheter assembly allowing for non-contaminated insertion of the catheter into a urinary canal

A urinary catheter assembly () is provided. The catheter assembly has an intermittent urinary catheter () with low-friction surface and a tubular elongated package () with a side-opening (). The catheter may be provided with a hydrophilic surface and the package may include a liquid swelling medium. The user may grab the connector () through the side-opening and pull out the catheter of the package through there. Spillage of the liquid swelling medium or lubricant is avoided. The side-opening may be configured so that it has two stable configurations, a storing and a folded configuration.

A catheter assembly () comprising a catheter () having a proximal end () adapted to be inserted into a bodily cavity and a distal end () having a drainage outlet (), a catheter package () having a cavity for accommodating the catheter and an opening for withdrawing the catheter from the package, and extracting means () that are coupled to the catheter for extracting the distal end of the catheter out of the package.
