A remote vehicle operation system has a control unit in communication with at least one subsystem of a vehicle. In one embodiment, a transmitter communicates with the control unit and transmits feedback signals to a portable receiver carried by the operator. One such subsystem may be a climate control subsystem. A communication unit communicates with the climate control subsystem and transmits a feedback signal when the subsystem meets a predetermined condition. The communication unit may have a transmitter in communication with the control unit. This embodiment may thus be a climate control subsystem in a vehicle and a control unit in communication with the subsystem.

Advanced remote operation system

A receiver assembly () includes an amplitude shift keyed mode () and a frequency shift keyed mode () selectively engagable to receive radio frequency transmissions from the tire monitoring system () and a remote keyless entry system () and switches between modes in response to receipt of a wake up pattern.

Combined tire pressure monitoring and keyless entry receiver

A powered window system for a vehicle is disclosed. The powered window system includes a window moveable between an open and a closed position. A motor is coupled to the window. The motor causes selective movement of the window. At least one of a switch and a communications bus is coupled to the motor. A processor is coupled to at least one of the switch and the communications bus and is configured to selectively send at least one of close and open signals to at least one of the switch and the communications bus. A sensor is coupled to the processor and senses conditions on which automated window closure is based. The sensor sends condition signals to the processor. The processor interprets the condition signals and selectively sends a closed signal to at least one of the switch and the communications bus when the conditional signal exceeds a prescribed threshold.

Automated closure system and method

Keyless entry systems generate a signal to actuate a security system on a vehicle when keyless entry system is outside of a range of the vehicle. The signal is transmitted to the vehicle once the keyless entry system is within range. In a first embodiment, the signal continues to be sent periodically over a period of time such that the operator can move within range of the vehicle. In a second embodiment, the request signal is stored at the keyless entry system until the keyless entry system receives a signal from the vehicle, which then indicates the keyless entry system is within range of the vehicle. At that time, the signal is sent to the vehicle. This invention facilitates the use of keyless entry systems for a person carrying a number of packages, such that the operator need not actuate the keyless entry system when approaching the vehicle. Further, the system would allow the operator to keep the keyless entry system concealed when approaching the vehicle so as not to provide an indication of which vehicle the operator is approaching.

Remote keyless entry system with advanced activation features

A vehicle wheel sensor assembly ( ) includes a pressure sensor ( ) and a counterweight ( ) mounted to a band ( ). The band ( ) is of a length to extend around the inner diameter of the wheel rim ( ) such that the pressure sensor ( ) is mounted 180 degrees opposite the counterweight ( ) when installed around the inner diameter. The sensor ( ) and the counterweight ( ) thereby minimally effects the balance of the vehicle wheel assembly ( ). The band ( ) includes a male end ( ) which fits into a female end ( ) in a zip-tie like manner. An antenna ( ) is mounted along the length of the band ( ) for a length approximately equal to the rim ( ) inner diameter such that heretofore transmission/reception problems are essentially eliminated.

Sensor mounting assembly for a vehicle tire

A keyless entry system includes a controller that operates in one of two modes. When an authentication signal is received from a passive signaling device, the controller operates in one mode that permits more convenient access to a user. When an authentication signal is not received from the passive signaling device, the controller requires another mode of operation from a manually operable signaling device. In one example, the manually operable signaling device is a numeric keypad. When an authentication signal from the passive signaling device is received, any single key can be manipulated to gain the desired access controlled by the system. When no authentication signal is present from the passive signaling device, then the controller preferably requires a specific sequence of key activation before access is permitted.

Keyless entry system

A system and method for automatically closing a moveable panel, such as a vehicle window. A power drive mechanism is controlled by a controller. The controller determines if the user has issued an &ldquo;express up&rdquo; command. Only if the panel is beyond a predetermined proximity of its fully closed position when the &ldquo;express up&rdquo; command is issued, is the panel is powered to the fully closed position under its normal circumstances. If the panel is within the predetermined proximity, however, exception processing occurs.

&ldquo;Express up&rdquo; vehicle window system and method

A power closure sensor system is disclosed. The system includes a data processing device, a closer motor in communication with the data processing device and controlling the movement of a closable member, and a proximity sensor, configured to sense the location of an object. The proximity sensor is in communication with the data processing device. The proximity sensor is configured to communicate the location of the object with or without the object contacting either the closable member or the frame. The system also includes a position sensor configured to sense the position of the closable member. The position sensor is in communication with the data processing device. Further, the system includes a logic program running on the data processing device and the logic program is configured to generate an estimate of the location of the object relative to the closable member.

Power closure sensor system and method

An alternative arrangement for a passive entry and ignition system for a vehicle is disclosed. The passive system uses an electronically coded card or 'smart card' that electronically conveys identifying information to a single on board antenna. The single on board antenna is integrated into the roof panel of the vehicle using conventional wire or flat cable technology. The single antenna communicates to a vehicle control unit to enable actuation of various predetermined mechanical systems of a vehicle such as the vehicle entry system or the vehicle ignition system. In an alternative embodiment, the single on board antenna is integrated in an existing occupant detection mat located in the passenger seat of the vehicle.

Integrated antenna for use with passive entry and ignition system

A transmitter and/or receiver unit has a plug-type connector mounted on a printed circuit board. The electrical contact elements of the plug-type connector are soldered at one end to the printed circuit board. At least one of the electrical contact elements of the plug-type connector and an additional lead disposed in or on a housing of the plug-type connector, form an antenna for the transmitter and/or receiver unit.
