The invention provides a fermentation arrangement for fermenting a brew including a vessel having an internal volume adapted to support fermentation of a brew therein, a settable energy device arranged to deliver and extract energy respectively to and from the internal volume of the vessel, and a temperature controller device for controlling the amount and period of energy delivery and extraction of the settable energy device to achieve a temperature within the vessel according to one or more modes of operation, wherein the modes of operation include at least a storage mode associated with the end of fermentation, and the setting of energy in the storage mode is such as to maintain the fermented brew in a stable state. End of fermentation may be detected by measuring for temperature stratification, using temperature sensors positioned at different heights of the brew.

Temperature controlled fermenting container

The present invention relates to a refillable keg assembly for use in dispensing beverages, in particular beer. The keg assembly comprises an outer shell, and a collapsible container for holding the beverage, positionable within the outer shell. A sealed cavity is defined between the outer shell and the collapsible container. A beverage outlet from the collapsible container enables beer to be dispensed from the keg assembly, and a gas valve allows gas to enter the cavity. The pressure in the container is maintained above atmospheric pressure, and when dispensing the beverage, pressure in the cavity collapses the collapsible container and forces the beverage out through the beverage outlet. A gas compressor is connected to the gas valve, and is activated by a pressure switch to maintain the pressure within the cavity. To refill the keg assembly, the collapsible container can be replaced, and a new collapsible container filled while within the outer shell.

Beverage dispensing apparatus

The present invention provides a gas delivery device and system and methods for delivering humidified pressurized gas through a conduit to a subject. The configuration of the elements of the gas delivery device enable the device to be conveniently oriented from a horizontal to vertical position to suit the needs of a user. The gas delivery device may incorporate a Helmholtz resonator for dampening sound of the motor. The conduit may incorporate concentric tubes to allow it to conveniently engage the humidifier at a single aperture. The invention includes a method of operating a blower motor for a gas delivery device using a single Hall sensor.

Apparatus for delivery of pressurised gas

The specification discloses brewing apparatus and a method for testing for end of fermentation of a fermenting brew. It has been determined that, once fermentation is complete, the temperature of a brew (such as beer) shows a tendency to stratify in horizontal layers. However, the activity of fermentation disrupts the tendency of the brew to stratify. Accordingly, the brewing apparatus comprises at least two temperature sensors positioned to measure a temperature difference between the temperature at a first height of the brew and the temperature at a second height of the brew. End of fermentation is identified if the temperature difference is greater than a threshold difference.

Brewing apparatus and method

A flow sensing apparatus for detecting fluid flow rate and direction is described. The flow sensing apparatus includes a flow-responsive element projecting into the fluid flow path, and a position sensor which detects the degree and direction of any change in position of the flow responsive element in response to the fluid flow.

A gas compression and delivery device for treatment of sleep disorders. The device has a motor, at least one impeller, and two air pressure chambers, each receiving air at a different pressure, one pressure applied to a patient during inspiration and one for expiration. A mask having a dual pressure gas delivery hose and a selector for letting in either the high or low pressure gas depending on the breathing cycle of the patient. The gas pressures are adjustable by means of valves on the separate chambers in the device. At least one sensor on the patient sending data to a controller in the device as to the patient's physiological data which is used to determine the patients breathing treatment needs. The controller may be a microprocessor with memory capability to store patient data for diagnosis and treatment of the patient. Telecommunications by telemetry, or telephony to a remote site allows home use of the device rather than institutional use with health care providers on site. A data card may be used to input and or store data in the device. The controller is capable of instructing the device to treat the patient with a number of different protocols and record the patient's physiological data for diagnosis and treatment purposes.

Dual-pressure blower for positive air pressure device

A support structure for interposition between a base of a sloping base cooler and a roof during installation of the cooler onto the roof. The support structure comprises a transition component adapted to be connected to the cooler and to ducting protruding through the roof to feed cooled air from the cooler into the ducting. The transition component includes a movable prop or flap, separate from or formed with the transition component, to be positioned between the transition component and a horizontal surface such that the transition component, when fitted to a sloping base cooler, maintains the cooler in a vertically upright condition for assembly or transportation or storage.
