The present disclosure is directed to an electric vehicle cordset and system for identifying faults in an electric vehicle cordset. The electric vehicle cordset and system include a cordset controller. The cordset controller includes a cordset processor, a plurality of fault detection circuits connected to the cordset processor, and a first status light connected to the cordset processor. The cordset processor is configured to execute a set of instructions including identify a fault in one of the fault detection circuits, terminate power in the cordset, turn on the first status light indicating the fault is present, and encode the fault in the first status light through modulating the first status light.

A system for detecting and mitigating window condensation for a vehicle includes an interior camera and a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The system also includes a controller in electrical communication with the interior camera and the HVAC system. The controller is programmed to determine an opacity of a first window of the vehicle using the interior camera, compare the opacity of the first window to an opacity threshold, and adjust the HVAC system to decrease the opacity of the first window of the vehicle in response to determining that the opacity of the first window is greater than or equal to the opacity threshold.

Detecting and mitigating window condensation

A method of modifying a time to collision threshold includes receiving data and images of an object from image capturing devices and non-visual sensors within an automobile, from infrastructure cameras, and from image capturing devices within other automobiles, determining ambient light levels and color of the object, comparing ambient light levels to a pre-determined ambient light level threshold, determining a standard time to collision threshold, and sending the standard time to collision threshold to the collision avoidance system when ambient light levels are at least the pre-determined ambient light level, and, determining a standard time to collision threshold, a lighting coefficient, a color coefficient, applying the lighting and color coefficients to the standard time to collision threshold, calculating a modified time to collision threshold, sending the modified time to collision threshold to the collision avoidance system, when the ambient light levels are less than the pre-determined ambient light level threshold.

A system for enhancing occupant awareness for a vehicle includes a camera system for capturing images of an environment surrounding the vehicle, a display for displaying information to the occupant of the vehicle and a controller in electrical communication with the camera system and the display. The controller is programmed to determine an activation state of the system. The controller is further programmed to capture an image of the environment surrounding the vehicle using the camera system in response to determining that the activation state is the activated state. The image has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion of the image includes a trailer connected to the vehicle and the second portion of the image. The controller is further programmed to display the second portion of the image to the occupant using the display based at least in part on the first portion of the image.

System and method for enhancing occupant awareness

A system for dynamically calculating collision avoidance metric thresholds for a vehicle includes a vehicle sensor, a passenger position tracking device, and a controller. The controller is in electrical communication with the vehicle sensor and the passenger position tracking device. The controller is programmed to determine a collision avoidance metric using the vehicle sensor, determine an offset to a collision avoidance metric threshold using the passenger position tracking device, and adjust the collision avoidance metric threshold based on the offset. The controller is also programed to compare the collision avoidance metric to the collision avoidance metric threshold and perform an action in response to determining that the collision avoidance metric is less than or equal to the collision avoidance metric threshold.

Dynamically adjusting collision avoidance metric thresholds based on driver's field of view

A system for enhancing occupant awareness for a vehicle includes a display for displaying information to the occupant of the vehicle and a controller in electrical communication with the display. The controller is programmed to determine an activation state of the system. The activation state includes an activated state and a deactivated state. The controller is further programmed to determine a clearance distance between the vehicle and an object in an environment surrounding the vehicle in response to determining that the activation state is the activated state. The controller is further programmed to display a notification to the occupant of the vehicle based at least in part on the clearance distance.
