An active matrix liquid crystal display device has diamond-shaped pixels arrayed in a close-packed arrangement, and interconnected by row and column electrodes which zigzag between the pixels, each column electrode extending between and being common to two columns of pixels and their associated thin film switches, and the column electrode-switch connections alternating sequentially between pixel columns.

Active matrix electro-optic display device with close-packed arrangement

An input circuit to an active addressed display sequentially switches pixels of video information into high speed sample-and-hold elements which are coupled to corresponding signal lines on the substrate. The pixels of video information are on the signal lines for a complete switching cycle and are transferred to vertical source lines of the display during a time interval equal to the period of a switching cycle.

Apparatus for addressing active displays

An input circuit to an active addressed display sequentially switches pixels of video information into high speed sample-and-hold elements which are coupled to corresponding signal lines on the substrate. The pixels of video information are on the signal lines for a complete switching cycle and are transferred to vetical source lines of the display during a time interval equal to the period of a switching cycle.

X-ray image intensifier tube comprises a silicon diode array imaging target which, on the electron bombarded side, is provided with a deeply diffused phosphorus n.sup.+ layer covered with a metallic buffer layer.
