Disclosed herein is a first-person view (FPV) headset comprising a shell and a fan plate coupled to the shell, wherein the fan plate comprises an attachment point configured to receive a headset accessory. The attachment point may comprise a hinge mount and/or a quick-release connector (e.g., comprising a pin, a screw, a button, a magnet). The attachment point may include an electrical connector for power and/or data. Also disclosed are accessories (e.g., an antenna, an antenna mount, a digital video receiver) with physical features that are complementary to the attachment point, thereby enabling them to be attached to the FPV headset.

Apparatus for attaching accessories to a first-person view headset

Disclosed herein are battery-free charging systems for wireless headphones that have at least one proprietary electrical contact provided to charge an on-board power source of the wireless headphone. The battery-free charging system comprises a cable having a first end and a second end, a headphone socket coupled to the first end of the cable, a connector coupled to the second end of the cable, the connector for connecting the battery-free charging system to an external power source, and circuitry coupled to the headphone socket and to the connector. The headphone socket is configured to receive the wireless headphone, to couple the at least one proprietary electrical contact to the external power source, and to allow continued use of the wireless headphone while charging. The circuitry is configured to detect an orientation of the wireless headphone within the headphone socket and provide a charging signal appropriate for the detected orientation.

Disclosed herein are systems for providing virtual reality or mixed reality experiences to riders of a waterslide. In some embodiments, the system comprises a plurality of beacons or markers disposed along the waterslide, and a waterproof virtual reality (VR) headset for presenting virtual reality or mixed reality content to a person wearing the waterproof VR headset and riding the waterslide, wherein each of the plurality of beacons or markers is configured to be detectable to facilitate coordinated presentation of the virtual reality or mixed reality content to the person wearing the waterproof VR headset and riding the waterslide based at least in part on a location of the person along the waterslide.

Coordination of water-related experiences with virtual reality content

Disclosed herein are head-mounted displays comprising a display screen and an optics block. The optics block is configured to present, at a time instant, to a left eye of a user of the head-mounted display apparatus, a first shifted version all of an image generated by the display screen. The first shifted version of the image has a first perceived center location that differs from the center of the display screen. The optics block is also configured to present, at the time instant, to a right eye of the user of the head-mounted display apparatus, a second shifted version of the image generated by the display screen, the second shifted version of the image having a second perceived center location that differs from the center of the display screen and that differs from the first perceived center location.

The present invention is directed to devices, systems and methods for coordinating water-related experiences with virtual reality content. In one aspect of the present invention, a method of providing a virtual reality experience to a rider moving along the surface of water is provided. The method includes the following steps: providing a headset to the rider, wherein the headset is placed over the rider's eyes; providing a surface of water along which the rider can travel; collecting data on the rider's acceleration, velocity or orientation through interaction of the headset with signals generated next to the surface of the water along which the rider travels; using the data to calculate one or more values that are used to coordinate virtual reality content with the rider's position along the water surface; presenting the virtual reality content to the rider through the headset, thereby providing a virtual reality experience to the rider.

Disclosed herein are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Some UAVs include a vertically-mounted printed circuit board (PCB). The UAVs have yaw, pitch, and roll axes. The UAVs comprise a plurality of propellers, each of the plurality of propellers configured to rotate about a respective one of a plurality of axes of rotation; a base assembly coupled to each of the plurality of propellers; and a PCB coupled to the base assembly. A surface of the PCB lies in a plane defined by the yaw axis and the roll axis, and no portion of the PCB intersects any axis of rotation of any propeller of the unmanned aerial vehicle. The PCB may have a non-rectangular shape, such as the shape of a shark. Some UAVs include a PCB comprising a mechanical feature configured to engage with a peripheral or a peripheral subassembly.
