There is provided a method, computer program and apparatus for causing an apparatus to perform: determining that a first non-terrestrial apparatus coverage area provided by a non-terrestrial apparatus will at least partially overlap with a first access coverage area provided by a terrestrial access network node at and/or during a first time; determining a first Doppler shift correction value, the first Doppler shift correction value corresponding to a frequency shift resulting from a relative velocity difference between the non-terrestrial apparatus and the terrestrial access network node at and/or during the first time; determining at least one first shifted non-terrestrial apparatus frequency by correcting at least one transmission and/or reception frequency of the non-terrestrial apparatus using the first Doppler shift correction value; and causing the terrestrial access network node to abstain from transmitting and/or receiving signalling on resources corresponding to the at least one first shifted non-terrestrial apparatus frequency.

Apparatus, method, and computer program

According to an example embodiment, a method may include determining, by a base station, a past beam sequence for a user equipment (UE), determining, by the base station based on the past beam sequence for the user equipment and a beam sequence model, a predicted future beam sequence for the user equipment, wherein the predicted future beam sequence indicates a predicted sequence of beams over time for communication between the user equipment and the base station, and performing, by the base station, a beam-related action based on the predicted future beam sequence for the user equipment.

Beam prediction for wireless networks

Disclosed is a method comprising generating a preamble matrix comprising a plurality of entries, wherein at least a subset of the plurality of entries indicate random-access preambles; obtaining a sequence encoded with the preamble matrix; and transmitting the sequence to one or more user devices.

Preamble matrix

To configure a set of user devices, which comprises one or more user devices, to monitor a subset of beams, at least one past beam sequence indicating one or more beams, which served the set is determined, and inputted to a trained model which outputs a probability distribution. Then as many beams as is a number of beams determined for the set to monitor is selected from the probability distribution according to a first criteria, and the set of user devices is configured to monitor and report beams in the beam group. Past beam sequences are also used in training. From the past sequences, set-specifically, past beams that served a set within a first time interval are determined to be used as training data, and future beams that served the set within a second time interval following the first time interval are determined to be used as validation data.

Beams to monitor

According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus for the performing the following. The apparatus implements, separately for at least one downlink beam, a reinforcement learning model, where a state defines which of the plurality of uplink beams belong to a priority beam set for uplink reception corresponding to a downlink beam, an action is defined as an addition of a new uplink beam to the priority beam set, a removal of an uplink beam from the priority beam set or doing nothing and a reward is calculated based on a change in uplink signal-to-noise ratio due to an action adjusted with a cost for taking the action. The apparatus calculates iteratively at least one optimal state using at least one reinforcement learning model based on uplink signal-to-noise ratio statistics and on the plurality of optimal downlink beams for transmission to said plurality of terminal devices.

Algorithm for mitigation of impact of uplink/downlink beam mismatch

This document discloses a solution for preamble detection. According to an aspect, a method comprises: transmitting a message to a first terminal device connected to an access node, the message instructing the terminal device to carry out a random access procedure towards the access node; receiving a signal from the first terminal device during the random access procedure, the signal comprising a random access preamble; using the received signal as a training input in a random access preamble detection process; and using the random access preamble detection process trained with the training input in detection of a random access preamble from a second terminal device not connected to the access node.

Preamble detection in wireless network

The present disclosure generally discloses a hybrid wireless communication system configured to support wireless broadband connectivity for a geographic region including a set of wireless network access devices configured to support wireless communications by a set of communication gateways disposed at locations within the geographic region. The hybrid wireless communication system may be configured to operate across a set of multiple radio spectrum bands associated with a set of multiple carrier frequencies, respectively. The hybrid wireless communication system may be configured to jointly determine assignment of the locations (and, thus, the associated communication gateways) to the multiple carrier frequencies of the multiple radio spectrum bands and to configure the wireless network access devices to support the jointly determined assignment of the locations to the multiple carrier frequencies of the multiple radio spectrum bands.

Hybrid wireless communication system

A method for controlling a plurality of Wi-Fi clients and a plurality of Wi-Fi Access Points (APs) is provided. The method receives M1 and M2 for the Wi-Fi clients and M3 for the Wi-Fi APs. For a respective Wi-Fi client configured to operate on a channel, M1 is a Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) from a serving Wi-Fi AP and M2 is an aggregated level of interference from other than the serving Wi-Fi AP. For a respective Wi-Fi AP, M3 is a level of interference received from other of the Wi-Fi APs operating on the channel. The method generates distributions of M1, M2 and M3, sets a Clear Channel Assessment-Energy Detection (CCA-ED) threshold and a Clear Channel Assessment-Carrier Sense (CCA-CS) threshold based on the distributions of M1, M2 and M3, and transmits the thresholds to the Wi-Fi clients and Wi-Fi APs.

Method and apparatus for Wi-Fi access optimization

An example method of tactical communication is provided. The method includes receiving information indicating a tactical situation associated with a target area. The tactical situation is one of a missile in-flight, an eavesdropper, a signal jammer, and a transceiver located in a zone of interest. The method further includes performing a beamforming process including instructing transmission of a plurality of signaling beams from one or more transmitters toward the target area. The tactical situation may be associated with a foe and the plurality of signaling beams generate interference inhibiting communication with by the foe. The tactical situation may be associated with a friend and the plurality of signaling beams generate decodable signal for enhancing communication with the friend.

Method and apparatus for beamforming

An example system includes a plurality of wireless communication elements and a controller. The plurality of wireless communication elements are configured to provide wireless service to a geographic area of interest, each wireless communication element comprising at least an antenna port or at least one antenna. The controller is configured to control the wireless communication elements, wherein the controller is configured to determine respective ones of the wireless communication elements that are to be activated or not activated.
