The invention relates to an implantable device for optical stimulation of an organ of the human or animal body, having a probe comprising a tube made of a first transparent material, this tube being hermetically closed by at least one stopper; at least one light source arranged inside the tube; a plurality of electrical connection elements extending through the stopper and electrically connecting said at least one light source to the outside of the tube; and a linking cable arranged outside the tube and connected to said connection elements.

A deep brain stimulation device includes a probe having a transparent distal portion, crossed by a channel open at a proximal end of the probe, and also includes electrodes affixed to the distal portion of the probe and electrode terminals affixed to a proximal portion of the probe. Further, the device includes an electrical housing including a channel open at its two ends and housing electrical terminals in contact with the terminals of the probe, and an electrical extension lead affixed to the housing and connected to the terminals of the housing. The channel of the housing is open at the other one of its ends and the device further includes a waveguide at least partly housed in the central channel of the probe, all the way to the distal portion of the probe, and a transmitter housing capable of being connected to the waveguide for the injection of a predetermined wavelength.

The present invention relates to a method for filtering the signal of neuronal activity during a high frequency deep brain stimulation (DBS) to remove the stimulus artefact in the observed signal, comprising the step of approximating the observed signal trajectories in phase space the observed signal being considered as a sum of the stimulation artifacts induced by the signal of stimulation, wherein the signal of stimulation is assumed to be a solution of an ordinary differential equation including a self-oscillating system with stable limit cycle; slicing the observed signal and its derivative into segments, each segment corresponding to a period of stimulation; collecting N selected periods of stimulation to a training set; estimating the limit cycle of the self-oscillating system; synchronizing each artefact of the observed signal with the estimated limit cycle; subtracting the estimated limit cycle from each artefact in phase space according to the synchronization; collecting all segments in order to obtain whole filtered signal and finally presenting the results in time domain.

Method for filtering out artefacts of deep brain stimulation

A lead for deep brain electrical stimulation, to be inserted into liquid cavities, such as ventricles, or cysternae or subarachnoidal spaces, the lead comprising: a tubular body of biocompatible material having a side wall defining a lumen, said tubular body being suitable for being inserted over at least a fraction of its length into the inside of a patient's body in order to reach a region for stimulation; electrodes disposed close to a distal end of the tubular body; and a rigid stylet for inserting removably into the lumen of said tubular body; the lead being wherein said tubular body has an equilibrium shape that is not rectilinear, being different from the shape of the stylet and presenting one and only one bend, and that is sufficiently flexible and elastic to follow the shape of said stylet by deforming reversibly when the stylet is inserted into the lumen.
