A device for use in a laboratory and operable as both a centrifuge and a magnetic stirrer includes a housing defining a cavity therein, a motor coupled to the housing, and a spindle driven by the motor and rotatable about a first axis. The device also includes a first rotor removably couplable to the spindle and configured to support at least one tube therein, and a second rotor removably couplable to the spindle and including at least one magnet. The device also includes a controller in communication with the motor and operable in a first mode of operation when the first rotor is coupled to the spindle and operable in a second mode of operation when the second rotor is coupled to the spindle.

A head that can be coupled with a mixing apparatus includes a body that defines a longitudinal axis and includes a first side, a second side, a third side, and a fourth side. Each of the sides includes a projection. The body is configured to receive a microplate between the sides, which is removably secured to the body by the projections. At least one vertical channel in the body is configured to removably secure a first test tube to the body so that the longitudinal axis of the tube is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body. The first vertical channel has a first diameter. At least one horizontal channel in the body is configured to removably secure a second test tube so that the longitudinal axis of the tube is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body. The first test tube and the second test tube can be coupled to the body at the same time.

A test tube holder is configurable to support a combination of a first test tube type and a second test tube type. The test tube holder has a base and a plurality of independently adjustable support members, each coupled to and rotatable with respect to the base between a first position, where the support member is configured to support the first test tube type, and a second position, where the first support member is configured to support the second test tube type.

A needleless connector includes a housing having a housing passage with an open end, a slider disposed in the housing passage, and a mechanism to bias the slider toward the open end of the housing passage. The connector may also include a seal at the open end of the housing passage, the seal either cooperating with the slider to seal the open end of the connector, or sealing the open end of the connector without interaction with the slider, for example taking the form of a slit septum.

A reconstitution device is disclosed and includes a first container receiver having a first component cannula disposed therein, the first component cannula having a withdrawal port and a first transfer port formed thereon, a second container receiver having a second component cannula disposed thereon, the second component cannula having a vent port and a second transfer port formed thereon, a device body coupling the first container receiver to the second container receiver and having a transfer lumen formed therein, the transfer lumen in fluid communication with the first and second transfer ports, a selectively sealing interface secured to the device body and in fluid communication with the withdrawal port, and a venting member in communication with the vent port through a vent lumen.

A shower door system has a compression mounting system including a horizontal header and curb and upright jambs. The header and curb each include one or more rails mounted above and below the door via associated expansion assemblies. These assemblies have threaded shafts that engage one or more nuts mounted to the rails such that turning the shafts applies compressive forces against opposing end walls of a shower enclosure.

A by-pass shower door system has a compression mounting system including a horizontal header and curb and upright jambs. The header includes a header rail with parallel tracks for slidably mounting the door panels and a threaded header expansion assembly. The curb is mounted beneath the header and includes two curb rails and a threaded curb expansion assembly coupled to the curb rails. The compression assemblies have threaded shafts that engage nuts mounted to the rails such that adjusting the compression assemblies (by turning the shafts) applies a compressive force on opposing end walls of a shower enclosure to mount the header and curb. A cap overlapping the header rail conceals the header expansion assembly. A center guide, having parallel tracks for bottom ends of the door panels, conceals the curb expansion assembly.

A recessed lighting fixture includes a frame having an aperture and at least one mount and a reflector including at least one torsion spring configured to be received in the mount when the reflector is mounted to the frame. A recessed lighting fixture also includes a frame and a reflector. The frame includes an aperture and a pair of mounts separated around a circumference of the aperture in a first direction that differs from a distance in a second direction (i.e., by an angle of other than 180&deg;). The reflector includes a pair of torsion springs separated around a circumference of the reflector in the same way. The reflector is designed to be received in the mount when the reflector is mounted to the frame. The aperture may be a noncircular opening. A junction box that can be used with a recessed lighting fixture includes a retaining spring and a plate having at least one edge having a slot cut into the edge. The retaining spring is mounted on the plate and includes a retaining portion and an outer edge. The retaining portion extends into the slot and the outer edge is substantially flush with the edge of the plate.

A side insertion trap for cable or wire includes a base and two arms extending from the base to define an opening between the arms for permitting lateral insertion of a cable or wire between the arms. A retention member, such as one or more angled teeth, serves to inhibit motion of the wire or cable between the arms in a direction perpendicular to a lateral insertion direction.
