An isolated cancer-targeting peptide that includes at least two copies of the amino acid sequence PFLP (SEQ ID NO: 1) or PFLF (SEQ ID NO: 2). Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer. The composition contains the isolated cancer-targeting peptide and an anti-cancer agent. Further disclosed is a bispecific anti-cancer antibody that includes the isolated cancer-targeting peptide and an antigen-binding peptide that stimulates T cell activity. Methods are provided for treating cancer by administering the pharmaceutical composition or the bispecific anti-cancer antibody. Further provided is a method for diagnosing cancer by administering a radionuclide-labeled cancer-targeting peptide to an individual and imaging a location of the radionuclide.

Tandem repeat cancer-targeting peptides for molecular conjugation or engineering and uses thereof in cancer theranostics

Glycosphingolipids (GSLs) bearing &#x3b1;-glucose (&#x3b1;-Glc) that preferentially stimulate human invariant NKT (iNKT) cells are provided. GSLs with &#x3b1;-glucose (&#x3b1;-Glc) that exhibit stronger induction in humans (but weaker in mice) of cytokines and chemokines and expansion and/or activation of immune cells than those with &#x3b1;-galactose (&#x3b1;-Gal) are disclosed. GSLs bearing &#x3b1;-glucose (&#x3b1;-Glc) and derivatives of &#x3b1;-Glc with F at the 4 and/or 6 positions are provided. Methods for iNKT-independent induction of chemokines by the GSL with &#x3b1;-Glc and derivatives thereof are disclosed. Methods for immune stimulation in humans using GSLs with &#x3b1;-Glc and derivatives thereof are provided.

Methods for detecting the presence of nanoparticles or microparticles by cell mass spectrometry (CMS) are provided. CMS methods are provided for determining the number of nanoparticles or microparticles in each cell. Nanoparticles whose intracellular concentration can be determines by the CMS methods of the invention include polymeric nanoparticles (NPs), liposomes, viral-based NPs, carbon nanotubes, diamond NPs, polymeric micelles, nanocarriers, liposomes, and viral nanoparticles. Determination of the efficiency of drug delivery and intracellular titer of pathogens according to the invention is disclosed. Methods for determining intracellular uptake of virus particles are provided.

Quantitative measurement of nano/micro particle endocytosis with cell mass spectrometry

A method for treating cancer includes administering to a subject in need thereof an antibody against a transmembrane and coiled-coil domains protein 3 (TMCC3), wherein the antibody binds to an epitope in an extracellular domain of TMCC3. The antibody binds to an epitope in an intercoil domain of TMCC3. A method of diagnosing or assessing a cancer condition includes assessing a level of expression or activity of a transmembrane and coiled-coil domains protein 3 (TMCC3) in a sample, wherein an increase in the level of expression of activity of TMCC3 as compared to a standard indicates the presence of cancer stem cells in the sample.

Immunogenic compositions, cancer vaccines and methods for treating cancer are provided. Compositions comprising: (a) a glycan such as Globo H or an immunogenic fragment thereof, wherein the glycan is conjugated with a carrier protein by a linker such as para-nitrophenyl; and (b) an adjuvant comprising glycolipid capable of binding CD1d on a dendritic cell, such as an &#x3b1;-galactosyl-ceramide derivative, wherein the immunogenic composition induces an immune response that induces a higher relative level of IgG isotype antibodies as compared to IgM isotype antibodies, are provided. Immunogenic compositions comprising the carrier protein diphtheria toxin cross-reacting material 197 (DT-CRM197) and the adjuvant C34 are provided.
