Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a storage device and a method for powering the storage. The storage device is powered by a main power supply and the storage device comprises a processor, a baseboard management controller (BMC), a plurality of disks, a first backup power supply and a second backup power supply. The first backup power supply is at least coupled to the processor, and the second backup power supply is at least coupled to the baseboard management controller. Embodiments of the present disclosure enable flexible spatial arrangement of backup power supplies by arranging a plurality of backup power supplies in the storage device.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relates to a method and device for balancing a supply current. In one embodiment, a current supply current for a load is detected. A first signal representing the current supply current is transmitted to a digital logic module. A second signal representing a maximum supply current and a third signal representing a minimum supply current are received from the digital logic module. A subsequent supply current for the load is determined based on the current supply current, the maximum supply current and the minimum supply current. By using the method and device according to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the supply currents of a plurality of power supply units for the load can be balanced a simple way with a low hardware cost.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a guiderail for a cabinet, a chassis and a cabinet. Specifically, the present disclosure discloses a guiderail () used in a cabinet () and the corresponding chassis () and the cabinet (). The guiderail () is mounted in the cabinet () and used to fix the chassis () which can accommodate storage processing units () with different dimensions. According to the present disclosure, the guiderail () comprises a main body part () and an extended part (), wherein the main body part () is used to support the chassis () when it is inserted into the cabinet () along the guiderail (); and the extended part () is used to fix the storage processing unit () extending from the chassis () so that storage processing units () of different dimensions can share the chassis () with the same specification.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an adapter for use in a storage device. The adapter comprises a substrate including a circuit board and adapted to support a PCIe card in the storage device; a first connector fixed on the substrate and electrically connected with the circuit board, the first connector adapted to connect to the storage device; and an adapting part connected with the substrate and electrically connected with the circuit board, the adapting part including a slot that is adapted to connect to a second connector of the PCIe card. In this manner, additional user-defined IC card functions and advanced features are supported while functions of the existing PCIe cards are fully utilized.
