The present invention relates to cosmetic compositions having improved application benefits to keratinous tissue and keratinous fibers wherein said compositions have improved application benefits, while avoiding the negatives associated with compositions currently known in the art. The cosmetic compositions exhibit a turning point stress of from about 650 Pa to about 1500 Pa and a high shear rate slope of less than about 0.5 Pa-s. Applicants have also found that the compositions disclosed herein are also useful for other cosmetic applications that relate to keratinous tissues like skin, e.g., lipsticks, foundations, eyeliners, lipliners, eyeshadows, rouges, etc., where it is desirable to provide a smooth application of a long wearing, film-forming cosmetic product.

Pseudoplastic, film forming cosmetic compositions

Disclosed are hair styling compositions which comprise from about 5% to about 90% by weight of a polyalkylene glycol styling agent that is substantially free of polyalkylene glyceryl ethers, and that has a number average molecular weight of from about 190 to about 1500 and from about 5 to about 35 repeating alkylene oxide radicals wherein each of the repeating alkylene oxide radicals has from 2 to 6 carbon atoms; from about 1% to about 90% by weight of a liquid carrier which can comprise water, an organic solvent, or combinations thereof; and, optionally, from about 5% to about 40% by weight of a propellant. Also disclosed are hair styling compositions which comprise from about 5% to about 90% by weight of a polyalkylene glycol styling agent that has a number average molecular weight of from about 190 to about 1500 and from about 5 to about 35 repeating alkylene oxide radicals wherein each of the repeating alkylene oxide radicals has from 2 to 6 carbon atoms; from about 1% to about 90% by weight of a liquid carrier which can comprise water, an organic solvent, or combinations thereof; and from about 1.5% to about 60% by weight of certain silicones or silicone derivatives and, optionally, propellant.

Hair styling compositions containing select polyalkylene glycol styling agents

An article for the delivery of personal care foams including a package comprising a container having flexible, deformable walls, an opening portion, a first sponge and a foaming composition. The package also includes at least one temperature changing element. The temperature changing element may include an anhydrous reaction, heats of solution, oxidation reactions, crystallization, electro-chemical heaters, zeolite-liquid systems and heats of neutralization. Further, the container may also include a second sponge.

Article for the delivery of foam products

The present invention relates to a low cost, article for the delivery of personal care foams comprising a package comprising a container having flexible, deformable walls, an opening portion, a first sponge having a density of from about 1.5 to about 3.0 lbs./ft,; an indentation force deflection of from about 40 to about 65 lbs./50 in,; and a porosity of from about 50 pores per inch to about 100 pores per inch; and a second sponge having a density of from about 1.30 to about 2.00 lbs./ft,; an indentation force deflection of from about 40 to about 95 lbs./50 in,; and a porosity of from about 10 pores per inch to about 50 pores per inch; and a foaming composition; wherein the ratio of the combined bulk volume of the sponges to the liquid volume of the foaming composition is from about 2:1 to about 60:1, and wherein the ratio of air volume to liquid volume is about 4:1 to about 100:1.
