A system and method for producing acetic acid, including dry reforming methane with carbon dioxide to give syngas, cryogenically separating carbon monoxide from the syngas giving a first stream including primarily carbon monoxide and a second stream including carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The method includes synthesizing methanol from the second stream via hydrogenation of carbon monoxide in the second stream, synthesizing dimethyl ether from the methanol, and generating acetic acid from the dimethyl ether and first-stream carbon monoxide.

Production of acetic acid through cryogenic separation of syngas

A method of diffusing COwithin a concrete mixture that includes mixing a non-recycled aggregate material with a COgas in a pretreatment chamber of a concrete preparation system to form a COadsorbed aggregate material, transferring the COadsorbed aggregate material from the pretreatment chamber into a cement mixing chamber of the concrete preparation system, and mixing the COadsorbed aggregate material with cement and water to form the concrete mixture, where mixing the COadsorbed aggregate material with cement and water releases COfrom the COadsorbed aggregate material and diffuses COinto the concrete mixture to form a carbonated concrete mixture.

Methods of holistically diffusing carbon dioxide within a concrete mixture

A method for curing cementitious articles includes flowing dry steam and carbon dioxide (CO) simultaneously into a curing chamber containing a cementitious article. A relative humidity within the curing chamber may be between about 50% and about 70% and a temperature within the curing chamber may be between about 50&#xb0; C. and about 70&#xb0; C. A dry steam and COmixture with a COconcentration between 2.5 vol % and 40 vol % is provided in the curing chamber and the cementitious article is cured for a duration between about 4 hours and 16 hours. Cementitious products cured with the method may have a COuptake of greater than 15 wt % and a mechanical strength at least 10% greater than a cementitious product cured only in dry steam or CO.
