A device for treating a diseased native valve in a patient is provided, the device including a frame structure; a valve segment positioned radially within the frame structure, the valve segment comprising a plurality of leaflets, and a plurality of commissure attachment mechanisms coupling the leaflets to the frame structure, each commissure attachment mechanism extending radially inwards from an outflow end of the frame structure as to create a gap between an interior diameter of the outflow end and an outflow edge of the valve segment. Other embodiments and methods of use are also provided.

Flared prosthetic cardiac valve delivery devices and systems

An accommodating intraocular lens (AIOL) for implantation within a capsular bag of a patient's eye comprises first and second components coupled together to define an inner fluid chamber and an outer fluid reservoir. The inner region of the AIOL provides optical power with one or more of the shaped fluid within the inner fluid chamber or the shape of the first or second components. The fluid reservoir comprises a bellows region with one or more folds of the bellows extending circumferentially around an optical axis of the eye. The bellows engages the lens capsule, and a compliant fold region between the inner and outer bellows portions allows the profile of the AIOL to deflect when the eye accommodates for near vision. Fluid transfers between the inner fluid chamber and the outer fluid reservoir to provide optical power changes when the eye accommodates.

Accommodating intraocular lens

A system for treating a diseased native valve in a patient includes a valve prosthesis and a delivery device. The prosthesis includes an anchor and a frame. The delivery device includes an outer sheath, an inner shaft, an anchor guide, and a tether. The anchor is shaped to encircle chordae or leaflets of a native valve. The frame is configured to sit within the anchor. The inner shaft is positioned within the outer sheath and translatable and rotatable relative to the outer sheath. The anchor guide is attached to a distal end of the inner shaft and has a curved distal section. The tether is configured to detachably couple to the anchor and to longitudinally translate the anchor within the inner shaft and anchor guide. The anchor is configured to be actuated from a delivery configuration to the deployed configuration when the anchor is translated out of the anchor guide.

Prosthetic cardiac valve devices, systems, and methods

A seal member for use with a replacement heart valve implant may include a tubular polymeric seal element configured to be disposed on an outer surface of a replacement heart valve implant, the tubular polymeric seal element defining a central longitudinal axis; and a reinforcement strip fixedly attached to the tubular polymeric seal element proximate a first end of the tubular polymeric seal element, the reinforcement strip extending circumferentially around the central longitudinal axis. The reinforcement strip may include a radiopaque element extending circumferentially around the central longitudinal axis.

A replacement heart valve commissure assembly may include: a locking mechanism including a first locking portion spaced apart from a second locking portion in a delivery configuration and configured to engage the second locking portion in a deployed configuration, the first locking portion being longitudinally actuatable relative to the second locking portion between the delivery and deployed configurations; and first and second valve leaflets secured to the first locking portion. A first sleeve portion of the first valve leaflet may be fixedly attached to a first fabric sleeve wrapped around a first leg of the first locking portion. A second sleeve portion of the second valve leaflet may be fixedly attached to a second fabric sleeve wrapped around a second leg of the first locking portion. The first fabric sleeve may include first and second end portions, and an elastic central portion configured to engage the first leg.

Replacement heart valve commissure assembly

A replacement heart valve commissure assembly may include a locking mechanism including a first locking portion spaced apart from a second locking portion in a delivery configuration and configured to engage with the second locking portion in a deployed configuration, wherein the first locking portion is longitudinally actuatable relative to the second locking portion between the delivery and deployed configurations. The commissure assembly may include a first valve leaflet and a second valve leaflet each secured to the first locking portion. A first sleeve portion of the first valve leaflet may be fixedly attached to a first fabric sleeve wrapped around a first leg of the first locking portion by a first filament, and a second sleeve portion of the second valve leaflet may be fixedly attached to a second fabric sleeve wrapped around a second leg of the first locking portion by a second filament.

A replacement heart valve implant may include a braided anchor member configured to actuate between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration formed from a plurality of filaments, a circumferential seal member disposed about a distal portion of the anchor member and including a reinforcing band disposed at a distal end thereof, and a plurality of valve leaflets connected to the anchor member. The reinforcing band is secured to the anchor member adjacent a distal end of the anchor member by a plurality of lashings each attached to two individual filaments. The plurality of filaments defines a body section, a proximal crown section, and a distal crown section, wherein the proximal crown section includes a first plurality of end loops and a second plurality of end loops, wherein a proximalmost extent of the first plurality of end loops and the second plurality of end loops varies.

Replacement heart valve implant

A replacement heart valve may include a tubular anchor member actuatable between an elongated delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration, a buckle member fixedly attached to the anchor member, a post member axially translatable relative to the buckle member, the post member including a latch portion configured to engage the buckle member when the anchor member is in the deployed configuration, an actuator member including a pivot pin proximate a distal end thereof, the actuator member being releasably connected to a proximal end of the post member at the pivot pin, and a valve leaflet attached to the post member. The post member may be disposed distal of the anchor member when the anchor member is in the elongated delivery configuration.

An apparatus for replacement a native heart valve is herein provided. The apparatus includes a replacement heart valve, an expandable anchor, and a plurality of rivets. The expandable anchor comprises a woven braid structure that surrounds at least a portion of the replacement heart valve and has a plurality of braid intersections. At least some of the braid intersections have rivets extending therethrough.

Apparatus for replacing a native heart valve and method of making the same

A medical device apparatus may include a medical implant including an anchor member configured to actuate between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration operatively connected to a delivery system, the delivery system including an outer sheath and an inner catheter disposed within the outer sheath, and a sheathing aid connecting the delivery system to the medical implant, the sheathing aid being configured to guide the medical implant into the outer sheath upon relative closing movement therebetween. The sheathing aid may include a plurality of tethers extending from the inner catheter to a proximal end of the anchor member, and a release mechanism slidably disposed within a coupler ring coupled to a distal end of the inner catheter. The plurality of tethers may be releasably coupled to the release mechanism.

A tissue modification apparatus includes a first and a second guide, a first and a second set of mounts, and a first and a second actuator. The first guide defines a first axis, and the second guide defines a second axis intersecting the first axis. The mounts of the first set of mounts are movable relative to one another along the first axis, and the mounts of the second set of mounts are movable relative to one another along the second axis. The first actuator and the second actuator are each settable to a stress load, with the first actuator and the second actuator movable, respectively, along the first axis and the second axis to transmit each respective stress load to a piece of tissue mechanically coupled to the first and second set of mounts.
