A motor vehicle bodywork has a floor assembly with an upwardly convex and downwardly open longitudinal center tunnel and two side sills parallel thereto. Floor elements are disposed between the longitudinal center tunnel and the side sills. A driver side and a passenger side are each provided with at least one front and one rear seat crossmember, seen in the direction of travel. The seat cross-members extend in the transverse direction of the vehicle and rest on the associated floor elements. It is important that the driver side and/or passenger side seat cross-members are each connected to each other in their upper regions via a plate-like thrust element.

Bodywork

A motor vehicle () has a fixed rollover bar () that spans a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The motor vehicle () also has removable roof () that can be moved between a closed position where the roof () is arranged between a windshield frame () and the rollover bar () and a storage position where the roof () is behind the rollover bar (). A linkage () is mounted to a vehicle body () behind the rollover bar () and can be articulated for moving the roof (). Links () of the linkage () lie in depressions () on the rollover bar () when the roof () is in the closed position. Buffer elements () are between the links () and the rollover bar ().

In order to reinforce a rear part of a convertible vehicle, reinforcement elements are provided on both sides on a rollover protection device. The reinforcement elements are composed, at the rear side of the device when viewed in the direction of travel, of at least two diagonal struts which extend toward one another. Further reinforcement elements are composed, at the front side of the device when viewed in the direction of travel, of at least two lateral stays which are arranged diverging from one another. The diagonal struts and the stays are secured supported on the vehicle body.

A motor vehicle has a rear axle cross member, from which two diagonal struts project forward in a V-shape, which diagonal struts are connected with their front end in each case to a vehicle longitudinal member. Here, it is important that an annular, closed stiffening structure is provided behind the rear axle cross member as viewed in the direction of travel. The stiffening structure is supported with its front end on the rear axle cross member and with its rear end, via struts which project rearward in a V-shape, on rear vehicle longitudinal members.

Motor vehicle

A rollover protection device is disposed behind the vehicle seats of a motor vehicle, in particular a convertible with a convertible top, and has at least one rollover protection cassette containing a rollbar. It is important here that the at least one rollover protection cassette or a housing of the same is a supporting component of a stiffening support which is of multi-part construction and extends in the transverse direction of the vehicle.
