Method and apparatus for opportunistic synchronizing of tele-communications to personal mobile devices

Systems and methods are provided for analyzing voice-based audio inputs. A voice-based audio input associated with a user (e.g., wherein the voice-based audio input is a prompt or a command) is received and measures of one or more features are extracted. One or more parameters are calculated based on the measures of the one or more features. The occurrence of one or more mistriggers is identified by inputting the one or more parameters into a predictive model. In some example embodiments, a system is provided for real-time analysis of audio signals. First digital audio signals are retrieved from memory. First computed streamed signal information corresponding to each of the first digital audio signals is generated by computing first metrics data for the first digital audio signals, the first computed streamed signal information including the first metrics data. The computed first streamed signal information is stored in the memory. The first computed streamed signal information is transmitted to one or more computing devices. Transmitting the first computed streamed signal information to the one or more computing devices causes the first computed streamed signal information to be displayed at the one or more computing devices.

A method and apparatus acquires images of a scene with an omni-directional imager and a pan-tilt-zoom imager. A relationship between pixels in the input image and locations in the scene is expressed in terms of polar coordinates. An event is detected in the input images and the omni-directional pan-tilt-zoom camera is directed at the event in the scene using the relationship expressed in the polar coordinates.

A computer implemented method measures a performance of surveillance system. A site model, a sensor model and a traffic model are selected respectively from a set of site models, a set of sensor models, and a set of traffic models to form a surveillance model. Based on the surveillance model surveillance signals are generated. Performance of the surveillance system is evaluated according to qualitative surveillance goals and the surveillance signals to determine a value of a quantitative performance metric of the surveillance system.
