A light system for a vehicle is provided herein. The light system includes a trim member defining an aperture. A light guide is disposed within the aperture. The light guide has a proximal portion operably coupled with a light source. A lens is integrally formed with the light guide and is disposed at a distal portion of the light guide. A deformable attachment mechanism is integrally formed on the light guide between the proximal and the distal portions of the light guide. The light guide is compressively retained within the aperture by a forward portion of the attachment mechanism and a rearward portion of the lens.

Vehicle light system

A light assembly includes a housing with a mounting bracket extending from an upper surface, a circuit board, a light source provided on the circuit board, and a cover with an aperture in a bottom surface for light from the light source to pass through. The housing includes a side wall defining an interior space configured to receive the circuit board, and a plurality of cutouts formed in the sidewall. The cover includes a tab and at least one cap, both extending from the bottom surface of the cover, with the cap extending farther than the tab. The circuit board is positioned in the housing, with the cover closing the interior space such that the tab and cap each coupled to one of the cutouts, the tab and the cutout defining a gap through which wires connected to the circuit board extend, while preventing light from exiting through the cutouts.

A vehicle light system is provided herein. The light system includes a trim member defining an aperture. A light guide is disposed within the aperture. The light guide has a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a body portion between the proximal and distal portions. The proximal portion includes a connector portion. A lens is integrally formed with the light guide and is disposed at a distal portion of the light guide. A connector is disposed over the connector portion of the light guide. The connector is operably coupled to a housing having a light source.

A sunshade for a vehicle is provided herein. The sunshade includes a base member having independently movable first and second portions. A first handle is disposed on the first portion and a second handle is disposed on the second portion. A lamp assembly is operably coupled to the base member.

Vehicle sunshade

A light bar is provided and includes an elongated carrier having a surface extending along the carrier. Capacitive sensors are spaced along the carrier and positioned below the surface. Light sources are included for illuminating the surface, each associated with at least one capacitive sensor and positioned proximate thereto. A controller is included for detecting capacitive changes in the capacitive sensors, wherein when the controller detects a capacitive change in a capacitive sensor, the controller alters an illumination state of a light source associated therewith.

A vehicle wheel illumination assembly includes a light source located on the body of a vehicle near the wheel well and oriented to direct light onto a wheel assembly having a tire. A tire pressure indicator detects tire pressure of the tire. The light source illuminates the wheel assembly with a desired color to indicate a tire pressure status based on the detected tire pressure. A photoluminescent material is located on the wheel assembly and configured to luminesce in response to excitation by the light assembly.

A storage bin for a motor vehicle includes a storage bin storage compartment and a storage bin lid hingedly connected to the storage compartment. The lid includes a light source disposed to illuminate an interior of the storage compartment. A transmitter and a receiver are provided for providing an electrical current to the hinged storage bin light source. The transmitter is a first coil disposed in a first portion of a pivoting hinge assembly of the storage bin and the receiver is a second coil disposed in a second portion of the pivoting hinge assembly, the second coil electrically communicating with the light source. In use, a current is supplied to the light source when the transmitter and receiver are disposed adjacent to one another by pivoting the storage bin lid to an open configuration.

An illuminable mat adapted for use in a variety of settings is provided. The illuminable mat includes an illuminable region and a light source that illuminates the illuminable region. The light source is powered by a receiver that is wirelessly supplied by a transmitter.

A vehicle puddle lamp assembly is provided and includes a plurality of light projectors located on a vehicle and configured to illuminate different lighted image patterns on a ground surface adjacent to the vehicle. A vehicle lighting system is disclosed. The lighting system comprises a group of light sources having a plurality of portions. Each of the portions has a proximity sensor configured to communicate a signal to control a portion of the plurality of portions. A controller is in communication with the light sources and the proximity sensors. The controller is operable to selectively activate a first portion of the grouping of light sources in response to a first proximity detection, and activate the plurality of portions in response to a second proximity detection.

Vehicle lighting apparatus with multizone proximity control

A vehicle tire pressure indicator and tire illumination assembly is provided. The assembly includes a light source located on the body of a vehicle near the wheel well and oriented to direct light onto a wheel assembly having a tire. A tire pressure indicator detects air inflation pressure of the tire. The light source illuminates the wheel assembly with a desired color to indicate a tire pressure status based on the detected tire pressure. In addition, the light source may be illuminated to provide puddle lamp and area lighting and turn signal indication.

A lighting apparatus for a vehicle includes a light source and a light pipe. The light pipe has a first end coupled with the light source, a second end, and a side surface extending between the first and second ends for radially emitting light. A carrier surrounds the side surface and includes an opaque portion and a translucent portion. The opaque portion abuts the side surface for preventing light from emitting beyond the side surface. The translucent portion extends adjacent to the opaque portion.
