A method that may include obtaining well path data describing a first well path through one or more formations. The method may include obtaining first acquired drilling parameter data in real-time during a drilling operation for a predetermined well, wherein the drilling operation corresponds to the first well path. The method may include determining, by a computer processor, first predicted drilling data using a machine-learning model, the well path data, and the first acquired drilling parameter data, wherein the first predicted drilling data may include a predicted well path. The method may include determining whether the first predicted drilling data satisfies a predetermined criterion. The method may include determining, in response to determining that the first predicted drilling data fails to satisfy the predetermined criterion, an adjusted well path. The method may include transmitting a first command to update the drilling operation to implement the adjusted well path.

Intelligent underbalanced coiled tubing drilling (UBCTD) geosteering operations advisory system and method of use

A method includes obtaining, with an edge computing device disposed in a bottom hole assembly of a drilling system, logging while drilling data. The method further includes determining, with the edge computing device, at least one interpreted quantity of a subsurface using one or more artificial intelligence (AI) models processing the logging while drilling (LWD) data. The method further includes determining, with the edge computing device, an optimal set of data transfer parameters for a telemetry system governed by a set of data transfer parameters, to telemeter the at least one interpreted quantity, where the set of data transfer parameters are continually updated to the optimal set of data transfer parameters while the logging while drilling data is being acquired. The method further includes transmitting, with the edge computing device, one or more guidance control parameters to a geosteering system based on the at least one interpreted quantity.

Methods and systems for logging while drilling and optimized telemetry using artifical intelligence

A sonde adapted for determining one or more parameters related to hydrogen at a subsurface location. The sonde includes: a plurality of centralizer arms forming an interior space having a proximal portion and a distal portion; and a plurality of fiber optic Raman probes each disposed at the proximal portion or the distal portion of the interior space and proximate a respective one of the plurality of centralizer arms, the plurality of fiber optic Raman probes being adapted to measure a hydrogen concentration in a downhole measurement. The sonde also includes a plurality of optical probes each disposed at another of the distal portion or the proximal portion of the interior space and proximate a same or different one of the plurality of centralizer arms, the plurality of optical probes being adapted to measure downhole local gas holdup.

Apparatus and method for in-situ monitoring of hydrogen levels at a subsurface location

Mineralizing carbon dioxide for storage may occur in a wellbore. For example, a method of mineralizing carbon dioxide may include: introducing, through a first wellbore to a subterranean formation, a first solution including a metal salt and a metal catalyst; introducing a second solution including a brine, wherein the second solution has nanobubble carbon dioxide at least partially dispersed therein, and wherein the second solution is introduced after introduction of the first solution; injecting carbon dioxide gas thereby at least partially dispersing the carbon dioxide gas in the first solution, thereby forming dissolved carbon dioxide; generating mineralized carbon dioxide from the dissolved carbon dioxide, wherein the generating includes catalytically reacting the metal salt and the dissolved carbon dioxide using the metal catalyst, thereby forming the mineralized carbon dioxide; and depositing the mineralized carbon dioxide within the subterranean formation.

A method for selectively optimizing water chemistry within a wellbore may include positioning a system tubing in the wellbore. The system tubing may include an electrochemical cell, a first chamber, and a second chamber. The method may also include injecting a fluid into the electrochemical cell and directing an electrical current into the electrochemical cell wherein the fluid separates by charge into a first fluid and a second fluid. The method may also include passing the first fluid into the first chamber and the second fluid into the second chamber. Also, the method may include rotating the system tubing, wherein the first fluid flows from the first chamber to the wellbore through a first radial conduit and the second fluid flows from the second chamber to the wellbore through a second radial conduit.

Method for enhancing oil recovery in a hydrocarbon-containing carbonate reservoir including: injecting a slug of an oil recovery solution into the carbonate reservoir such that the wettability of a rock surface of the hydrocarbon-containing reservoir is altered toward more water-wet; and injecting a slug of a displacing fluid into the hydrocarbon-containing carbonate reservoir formation after injecting the slug of the oil recovery solution. The oil recovery solution comprising: a manganese-bearing aqueous solution having manganese ions and one or more major ions. The aqueous saline solution having a concentration of manganese ions between 100 and 1,000 ppm TDS and a concentration of major ions that is equivalent to the concentration of major ions in seawater as it is found in nature. The one or more major ions can include: sodium ion, magnesium ion, calcium ion, chlorine ion, sulfate ion, bicarbonate ion, and combinations of the same.
