A user may select, edit, and share a portion of content. An interface may be used to select, edit, or comment on the portion of the content. One or more playlists may be generated for the selected portion of content and may be used to access the selected portion of content.

Selecting and sharing content

Systems and methods for selecting, editing, and sharing content are described. A user watching content on a display device may use a device, such as a mobile device, to select a portion of the content to share. An interface on the display device or the mobile device may be used to select the portion of the content to share, to edit the selected portion, and to comment on the selected portion, among other editing features. The mobile device may send information identifying the selected portion to a server, and the server may generate one or more playlists for the selected portion. The one or more playlists may be generated based on the information received from the mobile device and based on one or more playlists for the content provided by a network, such as a content delivery network. The one or more playlists may be sent to the device of another user and may be used to access the shared content portion.

Systems and methods for presenting two-dimensional (2D) content within a virtual reality (VR) presentation are disclosed. Some embodiments include providing the VR presentation to a user, receiving information of the 2D content for display during the VR presentation from an external source and obtaining location information related to a display location within the VR presentation for displaying the 2D content. The 2D content may be displayed at the display location based on the received information and the location information, wherein the display location corresponds to a 2D display rendered within the VR presentation.
