The vibration damper with an adjustable damping force includes a cylinder filled with a damping medium, a piston rod axially movable in the cylinder and carrying a piston which divides the cylinder into a first working space on the piston rod side and a second working space on the side away from the piston rod, a first adjustable damping valve which is connected to at least one of the two working spaces by means of a fluid connection, at least one second valve which is connected hydraulically in parallel to the first adjustable damping valve, and a third damping valve arranged in series to and upstream from both the first and second valves, the third damping valve moving in a closing direction as a function of a flow velocity of the damping medium through the third damping valve.

An open end of a hollow cylindrical body receives part of a cylindrical component, where the hollow cylindrical body and the cylindrical component each having a groove, the grooves being aligned when the cylindrical component is in its intended final position with respect to the hollow cylindrical body, so that a locking ring is captured by the two grooves. The cylindrical component works together with the hollow cylindrical body to form a ring-shaped space, which extends from one of the two grooves toward the open end of the hollow cylindrical body, thus offering access for a tool to move the locking ring into its intended final position.

A pressure operated valve is provided including an adjusting device, a spring and a vent connection. The adjusting device is axially movably arranged in a pressure chamber defined in the valve and comprises a valve body and a pressure intensifier. A space between the valve body and valve face defines a valve passage cross section. The spring is operatively arranged for holding the pressure intensifier in a floating arrangement in the pressure chamber. The pressure intensifier has a first side exposed to a pressure in the pressure connection opening and a second side facing away from the pressure connection opening. The second side of the pressure intensifier and the adjusting device define a low pressure chamber within the pressure chamber. The vent connection is an inflow restrictor arranged between the lower pressure chamber and a space having a lower pressure than the low pressure chamber.

A fluid oscillation damper is provided with an electromagnetically controlled valve for varying the damping force of the oscillation damper. The electromagnetically controlled valve is housed within a compartment confined by two housing parts. A first housing part is fastened to a container of the oscillation damper A second housing part is fastened to the first housing part. Both housing parts are nonreleasably interconnected. The electromagnetically controlled valve is actuated by an electromagnetic coil. The electromagnetic coil is provided with a ferromagnetic core. This ferromagnetic core is constituted by a plurality of components. These components are assembled so as to reduce the magnetic resistance for the magnetic flux.

Fluid operated oscillation damper

A vibration damper is disclosed having a valve actuation device and a housing, in which housing the valve actuation device can be located. The valve actuation device has a controllable coil form, a coil core, and a movable armature for executing an actuation motion. At least a portion of the housing of the vibration damper can represent a magnetic return body for the magnetic flux generated by the coil form.

A pressure accumulator for a hydraulic system includes a rigid container whose cavity contains a partition of pliable, resilient material which seals one compartment adjacent the bottom wall of the container from another compartment containing a gas under a pressure sufficient for expanding the partition into abutting engagement with the bottom wall when the fluid pressure in the one compartment equals atmospheric pressure. A passage outward from the one compartment through the bottom wall is shielded against insertion therein of any portion of the partition, and the resulting risk of injury to the partition, by a shielding member projecting from the bottom wall into the one compartment and having a frontal surface directed toward the other compartment. Its annular rim portion has a surface contiguously adjacent an annular portion of the bottom wall, and the two annular surface portions and the partition bound therebetween an annular space at atmospheric pressure in the one compartment. The passage of the bottom wall communicates with an orifice in the annular space.
