An injector for introducing a capsular tension ring and intended for once-only use, and a method for manufacturing such an injector. The injector includes: a housing extending in longitudinal direction of the injector, and a throughfeed channel. A plunger is arranged movably in the channel and includes an engaging means for engaging the capsular tension ring, and further includes a guide element on a guide arm. A spring mechanism co-acts with the plunger and is configured to displace the plunger from a starting state, in which the engaging means engages the capsular tension ring, to an activating state in which the capsular tension ring is carried inward into the throughfeed channel. The housing has a guide with first and second channel parts, and a wall part for carrying the guide element from the first to the second channel part, and the first channel part is provided with a resistance threshold.

An ophthalmic multifocal lens to be worn on or in a human eye. The lens has an optical portion with anterior and posterior surfaces and a circumferential peripheral boundary. The optical portion has far vision zones having a first refractive power and near vision zones having an add power. The far visions zones and near vision zones include ring segments having one of the refractive powers each radially bounding a more central zone of another one of the refractive powers. The ring segments include ring segments bordering on the peripheral boundary and alternating in circumferential sense along the full circumference of the peripheral boundary.

Multifocal ophthalmic lens to be worn in or on the eye

An ophthalmic lens to be worn on or in a human eye for refractive correction of astigmatism. The lens has an anterior surface and a posterior surface shaped such that at least a zone of the lens said lens has a first dioptric power over a first main meridian, a second dioptric power different from the first dioptric power over a second main meridian intersecting the first meridian, and a dioptric power between the first dioptric power and said second dioptric power over each meridian between the first and second main meridians, the optical power continuously varying from meridian to meridian. The main meridians and at least one meridian between the main meridians each have a different Coddington shape factor and a different asphericity that is related to the Coddington shape factor of the respective meridian in accordance with a relationship providing aberration neutral refraction for the respective meridian.
