The present invention concerns a metallic flat gasket with at least one sealing layer with at least one port, with a sensor layer corresponding to the ports being deposited on at least one surface of the sealing layer. This sensor layer consists of a compression protection layer and at least one break, in which a sensor element is at least partially installed.

Metallic flat seal and method for the production thereof

The invention relates to a metal seal, which is fitted with a coating containing 10 to 60 wt. % of at least one elastomer, 5 to 50 wt. % of at least one inorganic fiber, 0.5 to 20 wt. % of at least one organic fiber, 10 to 80 wt. % filling material. The part by weight ratio of the at least one elastomer in relation to the part by ratio sum of the at least one inorganic fiber and the at least one organic fiber ranges from 1:1.1 and 1.5:5. The invention further relates to the coating material.

Metal seal and coating material for metal seals

A gasket is provided that is suitable for use in connection with a cylinder head. The gasket includes a first outer plate including a compensating portion, a second outer plate including a compensating portion, and a compensating plate positioned between said first and second outer plates. Preferably, at least one of said first and second outer plates includes a bead positioned outside of, and in close proximity to, said compensation portion of said plate. The compensating plate includes a compensating element and an edge portion. In a preferred embodiment, the area between the compensating portions of said first and second outer plates defines a compensating area and said compensating element is positioned within said compensating area. If desired, the gasket may also include a spacer plate.

The invention relates to a cylinder head gasket made of metallic material for internal combustion engines with components flanged laterally on to the engine block, which can reliably seal over a lengthy period of time even critical seal gaps in the region of additional components flanged on to the engine block. For this purpose, in the region of the gap between the engine block and/or cylinder head and the flanged-on component(s) there is in the cylinder head gasket at least one opening which communicates with at least one reservoir containing a plastic sealant mass.

A metallic flat gasket, particularly a cylinder head gasket having at least one beaded gasket plate and a support plate surrounds at least one passage opening. On the edge of the gasket plate surrounding the passage opening is shaped a bead, which is held in indirect force closure. To this end the area of the carrier sheet supporting the free leg of the bead is thinner or thicker than the remaining area. It preferably has a topographically freely selected shape and/or different widths along the passage opening circumference. A material reinforcement is obtained in that the carrier sheet is provided with a recess and a metal ring e.g. formed by a fold or flange.
