The invention relates to a forging apparatus, comprising forging rams () that are guided in the direction of stroke and accommodate forging tools (), and lifting drives () which can be driven by a shaft () and which are supported in a non-positive manner on an abutment () of the forging rams () held under pretension in contact on the lifting drives (). In order to provide simple constructional conditions it is proposed that the shafts () of the lifting drives () comprise two drive cams () which are angularly offset by 180&#xb0; in relation to each other, are centrally symmetric with respect to the shaft axis, and cooperate with the abutments () of the forging rams ().

A forging machine is described having at least one clamping head () for a work-piece () and having a rotational drive, which is controllable in dependence on the engagement of the forging tools (), for the clamping head (). To provide advantageous drive conditions, it is proposed that the rotational drive comprise at least one hydraulic motor (), which is connected to a pump circuit (), and which is connected to a hydraulic circuit (), which is connected in parallel to the pump circuit (), for the periodic supply and discharge of a predefined quantity of hydraulic medium in dependence on the stroke frequency and/or the stroke location of the forging tools ().

Forging machine

A forging apparatus is described, comprising forging tools () which are arranged in a centrically symmetrical way about a forging axis () and whose tool holders () radially guided in a frame () are connected with lifting drives (), which each comprise one respective connecting rod () that is pivotably supported via abutments () on a housing () on the one hand and on the tool holder () on the other hand, and comprising a common drive for the lifting drives () which comprises a torsional vibration drive () for at least one actuator () for the one of the two abutments () of the connecting rods (), which actuator is rotatably held about the forging axis (). In order to ensure advantageous constructional conditions, it is proposed that the frame () forms the actuator () of the common drive for the lifting drives (), and that the torsional vibration drive () is provided between the housing () and the frame () which is rotatably held about the forging axis ().

Forging apparatus

An apparatus is described for the intermittent drive of a spindle () for a workpiece fixture, especially a forging machine, comprising a traction gear () consisting of a traction means () guided endlessly about a driving wheel () and a driven wheel (), a continuous rotary drive () for the driving wheel () and a superposition drive () performing rotary oscillations. In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the superposition drive () comprises a support () which can be displaced in a rotary oscillating manner about the axis of the driven wheel (), and deflection rollers () held on the support () for the traction strands () moving towards and away from the driving wheel ().
