A method and device for securing a tissue graft within a bone passage includes providing a graft fixation device that houses a closed loop having both braided and non-braided portions. A tissue graft is looped through the closed loop at the non-braided portion to attach the tissue graft to the graft fixation device. The graft fixation device is passed through the bone passage and seated against the surface of the bone to secure the tissue graft within the bone passage.

Closed loop suture for anchoring tissue grafts

A medical assembly includes a cannula and a sealing cap releasably coupled to the cannula. The cap includes a body and a sealing member integrally molded with the body to form a fluid-tight seal between the cap and cannula. The cap includes a member defining an opening for passage of a medical instrument therethrough in a fluid-tight manner. The member includes a first portion surrounding the opening and being thickened to limit tearing of the first portion, and a second portion surrounding the first portion being tapered down in thickness toward the first portion to increase flexibility of the member. The assembly includes a shaft receivable in a lumen defined by an inner surface of the cannula. The shaft includes a protrusion and the inner surface further defines a protrusion receiving formation.

A bone graft compaction pliers with removable inserts defines a bone graft harvesting and deployment system applicable to a wide variety of bone graft sized for use with bone anchors such as those employed in ACL repair. Cannulated bone anchors for encouraging bone regrowth employ an anchor with a axial cannulated bore and a plurality of fenestrations surrounding the bore to facilitate bone regrowth. A variety of sizes of single use inserts corresponding to a bone graft shape, or diameter, engage a single compaction pliers for forming various sized bone grafts from a single tool. A transparent transfer tube and corresponding base receives the formed bone graft for length adjustment, and engages protrusions on the recipient bone anchor for aligning the transfer tube to the anchor for disposing the bone graft into the cannulated bore of the anchor.

A tissue graft suspension device includes a platform member, a graft connecting element coupled to the platform member such that a portion of the graft connecting element forms a loop for attachment to a tissue graft, and an enclosure member coupled to the loop of the graft connecting element and configured to enclose a biologic material. The enclosure member defines an opening configured to receive the biologic material. The graft connecting element and the enclosure member are configured such that, during use, the tissue graft is coupled to the loop and in contact with the enclosure member.

Implantable biologic holder

The present disclosure relates to an interference screw for creating an interference fit between a bone tunnel and tissue. The screw includes a threaded body having a proximal end, distal end, and thread extending around the threaded body between the proximal and distal ends. A supporting spline extends along a cannulation through the threaded body. The supporting spline is engagable with a delivery device. The screw further includes at least one opening defined by a surface between threads of the threaded body. A ratio of open surface area to closed surface area defines the opening and is selected such that, when torsionally loaded, the screw does not exhibit plastic deformation when inserted into an undersized bone tunnel. The screw further includes a tapered tip extending from the distal end of the threaded body. The tapered tip has a thread extending at least partway around the tapered tip.

A fixation device includes a member defining at least two openings, and a suture tied to the member by passing the suture through the at least two openings in the member to form two suture loops through which ends of the suture pass. The two suture loops are interconnected. A method of securing a tissue graft includes providing the fixation member, attaching the suture to a tissue graft, and adjusting the length of the suture between the fixation member and the tissue graft by pulling the suture.

Tissue graft anchoring

A tissue graft suspension device includes a platform member defining an opening, a suture having a first portion and a second portion, and a fixation member mating with the opening in the platform member. The first portion and the second portion pass through the opening such that a third portion of the suture forms a loop for attachment to a tissue graft. The fixation member includes a retaining mechanism configured to allow the first portion or the second portion to pass through the opening in a manner that decreases a size of the loop and to prevent the first portion or the second portion of the suture from passing through the opening in a manner that increases a size of the loop.
