Of the four primary approaches to processing language by computer, only the parsing approach considers the semantic and syntactic components from the start. In doing so, however, the required resources expand rapidly as the scope of the language processed increases. And as that scope increases, the performance of parsing systems decreases. A natural language processor uses a tumbling-frequency phrase chain parser as described herein which circumvents this resource-intensive step in parsing, while quickly and almost effortlessly arriving at the next step in natural-language processing with far more accurate results involving a partitioning dictionary and phrase chains.

Understanding natural language using split-phrase tumbling-frequency phrase-chain parsing

In doing so, however, the required resources expand rapidly as the scope of the language processed increases. And as that scope increases, the performance of parsing systems decreases. A natural language processor uses a tumbling-frequency phrase-chain parser as described herein which circumvents this resource-intensive step in parsing, while quickly and almost effortlessly arriving at higher speeds and greater efficiency in natural-language processing with far more accurate results involving a partitioning dictionary and phrase chains, and, more particularly, to the discovery that a small and finite set of 'phrase chains' created using a parsing-based phrase-chain processor accounts for a considerable percentage of human language. The significance of this result is that these phrase chains, once identified, can be programmatically pre-encoded for deep structure (meaning) thus allowing for simpler, faster, and more accurate natural language processing at a semantic level than other known parsing approaches.

Understanding natural language using tumbling-frequency phrase chain parsing

One exemplary aspect comprises a computer-implemented method comprising: (a) electronically receiving, from a first securities market participant, data including information related to a first order and to one or more group rankings for dissemination; (b) electronically determining with one or more processors, based on data regarding a second securities market participant and the order information and group rankings, whether the second securities market participant has a second order, on the contra side of the first order, and whether, in accordance with the group rankings, the second securities market participant is qualified to receive information about the first order; and, (c) after, and only if, the second participant is determined to be qualified, transmitting information sufficient to display to the second securities market participant the information about the first order.

Systems and methods regarding targeted dissemination

A graphical user interface for an electronic market for trading products includes an aggregation window which displays additional aggregate quotes for a plurality of price levels of a product traded in the market. A trading system includes client station for entering quotes for securities. The clients have graphical user interfaces at which quotes can be entered and displayed at multiple price levels. The system handles a quote size that is displayable and attributable to a specific market participant, a reserve quote size that is neither displayable nor attributable to a specific market participant, and an additional aggregate quote size that is displayable but not attributable to a specific market participant.

A system for securities quotes is described. The system and allows posting of a bid and offer price for a security for a proprietary account. The system use a unique market maker identifier for a market maker proprietary account. In response to a customer order, a bid and/or offer price of the customer is posted for the security for an agency account, using a unique market maker agency identifier for an agency account. The quotes are sent to a server that disseminates the proprietary and agency quotes with other quotes for the same security from other market makers.
