The laundry drum is configured for removing water from wet laundry at a high rotational speed and has a circulating drum cover which is bent from a thin-walled material strip to form a cylinder or flat truncated cone wherein the parallel end edges of the material strip make contact in a connecting seam, with an assembly for connecting the end sections including a first tab formed at a first end section and continuing over the general curvature of the drum cover, a second tab formed at a second end section wherein the second tab is at least one of outwardly creased about the wall thickness of the material strip and inwardly creased about the wall thickness of the material strip wherein the tabs of the end sections are fixedly connected to one another and the overlapping tabs on the inside of the drum cover are covered.

Washing machine laundry drum

The invention relates to washing drum shell formed by a final sheet metal strip which is coiled in the form of a cylinder and whose ends are welded to one another. The longitudinal sides thereof are connected to a bottom disk by a high-flange joint provided with transversal embossments. The high flange joint is sufficiently stable even when the carriers of the washing drum are drawn into the shell. The drawn-in carriers are connected by at least one fold to openings shaped in at least one bottom disk and the transversal embossments of the high flange joint are shaped in an area which is arranged directly near a connection between the drawn-in carriers and the bottom disk.

Washing drum for a laundry treating machine

A laundry drum is configured for high-speed spinning of damp linen. The drum has a rotating drum shell, which is curved from a thin-walled material strip to form a cylinder. The parallel end edges of the material strip contact to form a joint line. So that the drum may resist drum speeds higher than 1500 rpm, the end edges have a slot-shaped teething. The teeth and of the teething engage into the respective tooth gaps of the opposite end edge, so that the base lines of the tooth gaps meet to form an at least approximately straight line. The teeth are fitted into the non-toothed zone of the end edge outside of the drum above the material strip, each tooth being firmly secured to the respective non-toothed zone.

Washing-machine laundry drum

A laundry drum for a washing machine includes sheet-metal wall portions and outer portions outside the sheet-metal wall portions. The sheet-metal wall portions have holes formed therein for the passage of treatment media, such as water or air and regions surrounding the holes toward the outer portions. The regions surrounding the holes are elongated into a tuliplike or frustoconical shape and have flat-formed edges bordering the holes to assure that a burr at margins of the holes remains as harmless as possible for gentle handling of delicate laundry. A tool for producing the laundry drum has a needle for cutting the holes, a stiffening piece for bracing the sheet-metal wall portion from below, and a female stamping die guiding the needle and having an offset end surface with a diameter less than the outer diameter of the surrounding regions of the sheet-metal wall portion.
