A method for operating a heating plant having a boiler with a heat exchanger following the combustion chamber, such that it can be operated continuously and the exhaust gas temperature maintained at a predetermined value, in which a continuously controllable burner is employed and the effective heat exchanger area is adapted to the burner output.

Method for operating a heating boiler plant and apparatus suitable

In a gasification burner comprising an antechamber for mixing fuel and primary air; a catalytic device for generating a fuel gas from the fuel/primary air mixture; a mixing chamber for mixing the fuel gas with secondary air; an annular space which surrounds the antechamber, the catalytic device and the mixing chamber being separated from the antechamber by a ring wall provided with radial canals; a combustion chamber and a burner plate terminating the combustion chamber; and an ignition chamber arranged between the combustion chamber and the mixing chamber the operating safety is increased by having the annular space also enclose the ignition chamber and the combustion chamber in ring-fashion and extend up to the vicinity of the burner plate; a primary air feed stub opening into the annular space; and baffles in the annular space which baffles conduct the primary air stream from the primary air feed stub to the radial canals of the ring wall in spiral or meander fashion about the combustion chamber and the ignition chamber.

Gasification burner

The invention relates to a method for operating a gasification (or vaporizing) burner/heating boiler installation and has the objective to develop such an installation in such a manner that it can be operated controllably. According to the invention, the required burner output is determined for this purpose from the outside air temperature, and then the mass flows of the heating oil and the air are controlled as a function of the demanded burner output, deviations from the stoichiometric ratio between the heating oil and the air being leveled-out by means of a lambda-probe arranged in the exhaust gas stream.

Method for operating a gasification burner/heating boiler installation

A vaporizing burner which includes a multi-portioned burner housing. The housing encompasses an inlet chamber, ahead of which there is located an antechamber which transitions into an annular passageway wherein heating oil is vaporized. The heating oil is admixed with preheated primary air and converted into a fuel gas in a catalyzer arrangement. Thereafter, the fuel gas is admixed with secondary air in a mixing chamber, ignited in an ignition chamber and conveyed into a further chamber. The last-mentioned chamber is closed off by a burner plate which is heated by the fuel gas and which transmits the usable heat to a suitable heat exchanger.

Vaporizing burner

An oxidic catalyst for the conversion of water gas which consists of oxides of the metals aluminum, lanthanum, cobalt, nickel and uranium, with the aluminum oxide being present predominantly as .alpha.-Al.sub.2 O.sub.3. The lanthanum and cobalt content is 5 to 30% by weight, that of nickel, 0.1 to 4% by weight and of uranium, 0.1 to 2% by weight, related to the total weight of the catalyst.
