A method for handling a product, in particular a viscous, pasty product, with at least one rotating shaft () in a product space (), a driving spindle () of the shaft () is mounted and sealed outside the product space () in a housing consisting of a plurality of parts (). The sealing is brought about by at least two seals (), wherein a dynamic seal () follows an eccentric movement of the shaft () and takes on dynamic sealing of the rotating shaft (), while another seal () compensates for an eccentric movement of the shaft () in relation to the housing by plastic or elastic deformation and therefore prevents a leakage between the housing part (), which moves eccentrically, and a rigid housing (). A defined quantity of liquid, which serves as a blocking agent and lubricant for the dynamic seal () of the shaft () towards the housing part (), is metered in here, the liquid, apart from a residual excess, being drawn into the dynamic seal () by a pressure difference therewithin and thereby forming an effective block and seal.

Method and apparatus for handling a product

A device for carrying out mechanical, chemical and/or thermal processes in a housing () having mixing and cleaning elements () on shafts (), wherein the mixing and cleaning elements () of the shafts () engage into each other when rotating about the axes thereof and two mixing and cleaning elements () are arranged at least one shaft () consecutively in the axial direction in a 180&#xb0; rotation-symmetrical manner about the axis (A) of the shaft (). Each mixing and cleaning element () comprises a disc element () and the disc element () has an outer edge () running in a radius (r) in an arch segment of approximately 90&#xb0; or slightly bigger about the axis (A) of the shaft () and wherein side edges () abut on both sides toward the shaft (), wherein one or more bars () sit on the edge ().

A process for the continuous thermal treatment of mixed substances, especially of solutions, suspensions and emulsions, wherein the continuous treatment of the mixed substances is divided into a main vaporization and a degassing stage, in which instance the main vaporization and the degassing take place in each case takes place in a separate mixer-kneader.
