Cloud network implementations for a distributed antenna system (DAS) control plane are provided. In one embodiment, a DAS architecture comprises: a DAS cloud computing network; a first DAS comprising a first user plane, wherein the first user plane includes uplink circuitry and downlink circuitry, wherein the uplink circuitry forwards uplink radio frequency traffic from at least one remote antenna unit to a master unit, wherein the downlink circuitry forwards downlink radio frequency traffic from the master unit to the at least one remote antenna unit; wherein the DAS cloud computing network comprises a control plane in communication with the user plane through a network; the first user plane comprises a high level protocol interface abstraction layer coupled to the network and processes and forwards the uplink and downlink radio frequency traffic based on configuration commands received from the control plane via the high level protocol interface abstraction layer.

Cloud network implementation for a distributed antenna system control plane

A distributed antenna system (DAS) having a communication component management system is provided that includes at least one communication component, at least one building sensor and at least one controller. The at least one communication component is used to establish a communication link between user equipment within an area of a building and the DAS. The at least one building sensor is located to sense environmental conditions within the building as part of a building control management system. The at least one controller is in communication with the at least one communication component. The at least one controller is further communicatively coupled to receive sensor data from the at least one building sensor. The at least one controller is configured to selectively change an operation state of the at least one communication component based at least in part on received sensor data from the at least one building sensor.

Uplink leveling systems and methods for a distribution antenna are provided. An uplink leveling system includes at least one communication path between a base station point of interface and a remote antenna unit. A broadband measurement detector is communicatively coupled to measure signal power in the at least one communication path at the base station point of interface. A signal measurement receiver is communicatively coupled to measure signal power in the at least one communication path. A test signal generator is configured to generate a test signal in the at least one communication path in an uplink. At least one controller is configured to level the communication path in the uplink direction based at least in part on measurements by the broadband measurement detector and the signal measurement receiver in response to the generated test signal by the test signal generator.

A first network is structured according to a first technology, especially a data network, comprising one or several network devices and/or interfaces, which are configured to establish communication with at least one station using the first technology and have basic functions for autonomous operation of the first network. In order to be able to collect subscriber-related data from a data source outside the network, especially a second network structured according to a second technology, more particularly a cellular mobile telephone network, when a subscriber who is not registered in the first network is connected, one of the two networks generically enables logical functions of components of the other network. A network facility enables the implementation of the above-mentioned method.

A method for connection of at least one station to a data network. In a first data network based on a first technology, the data network comprises one or more network devices and/or interfaces to establish communication with at least one station of the first technology, and with base functions for an autonomous operation of the first network. According to an aspect of the invention, a station with a non-network technology may be connected to a data network via a method for the connection of the station using a logical point-to-point connection. The data network comprises network devices for the transmission of data in a communications connection, and an access device with an interface for the establishment of a communication connection with at least one station. The communications connection between the access device and at least one network device occurring in a connectionless manner over a shared medium, whereby a point-to-point data connection is simultaneously established and maintained between the access device and the station. Further, another aspect of the invention relates to a corresponding data network and a network device, which permit the method to be carried out.

Method for connection of data terminal devices to a data network

The invention relates to a radio access network (RAN) for a mobile radio communications system and to an operating method therefor. The radio access network has a number of first nodes (UPS, UPS,), which are each assigned to a subarea (A, a) of a geographical area, and which serve for exchanging useful data between terminals (UE), which are located in the relevant subarea, and a primary network (CN). The radio access network also has at least one second node (RCS, RCS), which comprises a number of signaling functionalities (UEF) for exchanging signaling data with the each respective terminal (UE). The second node (RCS, RCS, . . . ) is connected to a number of first nodes (UPS, UPS, . . . ) in order to exchange signaling data with a terminal (UE) via those first nodes (UPS, UPS, . . . ) with which this terminal (UE) exchanges useful data. When the terminal passes into the subarea of another first node, the transmission of useful data shifts from the previous node to this other first node, whereby a shifting of the signaling functionality is unnecessary.
