Communication enabled circuit breakers are described. Methods associated with such communication enabled circuit breakers are also described. The communication enabled circuit breakers may include one or more current sensors. The one or more current sensors may be disposed in a clip. The clip may be coupled to a line side phase connection, and the clip may be shielded to attenuate signals.

Communication enabled circuit breakers

Communication enabled circuit breakers and circuit breaker panels are described. Methods associated with such communication enabled circuit breakers and circuit breaker panels are also described. A circuit breaker panel may include a circuit breaker controller and one or more communication enabled circuit breakers. Two-way wireless communication is possible between the circuit breaker controller and the one or more communication enabled circuit breakers.

Communication enabled circuit breakers and circuit breaker panels

Multi-pole and single-pole circuit breakers include a housing and a reset lockout mechanism disposed within the housing. The reset lockout mechanism disables electrical communication between line and load terminals of the circuit breaker if a predefined condition exists. Some circuit breakers include a single actuator, transition between ON and OFF states, and are capable of performing test functions. The test functions may involve testing AFCI and/or GFCI functions of the circuit breakers. The test functions may be performed when the circuit breaker transitions from an OFF state to an ON state. Some circuit breakers including a reset lockout mechanism may be powered only on its line side. Some circuit breakers provide an electrical indication when they are in the OFF state.

Circuit breakers incorporating reset lockout mechanisms

The present disclosure generally provides controls, apparatus, systems and methods for controlling a ventilation mechanism to efficiently manage the relative humidity of an area. The controls, apparatus, systems and methods utilize sensed relative humidity information and one or more inputs to provide for efficient automatic and/or manual control a ventilation mechanism in response to high humidity events within the area. The controls, apparatus, systems and methods provided herein efficiently automatically activate a ventilation mechanism through the use of sensed relative humidity information and user input. The controls, apparatus, systems and methods provided herein efficiently automatically deactivate a ventilation mechanism through the use of sensed relative humidity information and user input.

Apparatus and methods for controlling a ventilation mechanism

A occupancy sensor device comprising an occupancy sensor to output a detection signal, the detection signal including one or more pulses, the one or more pulses comprising one or more characteristics indicative of either detection of a motion or detection of a disturbance; a controller coupled with the sensor to receive the detection signal, the controller programmed to compare the one or more characteristics of the one or more pulses against a predetermined characteristic threshold, and based on the comparison, determine whether the one or more pulses indicate detection of the motion or detection of the disturbance. A machine readable-medium to comprise code for the controller. And, a device comprising an occupancy sensor and a vibration sensor to correlate vibrations with an output from the occupancy sensor to prevent false triggers.

Methods and arrangements for false trigger prevention

Wireless communication enabled circuit breakers are described. Methods associated with such wireless communication enabled circuit breakers are also described. The wireless communication enabled circuit breakers may controlled by a remote entity. The remote entity may wirelessly case the wireless communication enabled circuit breakers to trip.

Two-wire dimmer operation includes controlling conduction of power to a lighting load. In one aspect, based on a conduction angle adjustment, power supply voltage is monitored and a maximum conduction angle is established based thereon. In another aspect, a dimming level signal is received and a dimming level for a dimmer is set based on the received dimming level. The dimming level signal indicates a desired dimming level for a dimmer, and a maximum value for the dimming level signal is based on a dimmer power supply voltage. In yet another aspect, based on detecting an adjustment to increase a conduction angle of a dimmer, the conduction end angle is increased and the conduction start angle is also increased. This results in a net increase in the conduction angle for controlling operation of the dimmer.

Two-wire dimmer operation

A dimmer is provided for controlling power to a load, the dimmer having a ground leakage power supply deriving power from a connection of the dimmer to ground. The power supply may be a switching-mode power supply that can be the sole or primary power supply to power operation of the dimmer, including operation of the controller.
