In a method and circuit for executing an address jump command in a stored-program sequential-control system for operating machine tools or the like, an address counter is settable to a desired count and is able to count in a stepwise manner from any initial count therein and a program memory is provided which is connected to the output of the address counter and has data stored therein corresponding to each address which either is associated with the actuation of an output generator for the machine tools or the like or with the actuation of a jump command generator interrogation circuit. A first signal is generated when the data corresponding in an address is associated with the actuation of a jump command generator and the address counter is controlled when a jump command is present from the interrogated jump command generator to set the address counter to a new count which represents the jump address. This is carried out by detecting the presence of a jump command for generating a set signal, advancing the address counter to the next address in its sequence, and transferring the data associated in the program memory with this next address into the address counter by the set signal whereby the address counter receives this present jump address as its new count setting.

Method of executing an address-jump command in a stored-program

An arrangement for energy economy in a drive which includes an induction motor and a clutch-brake unit, particularly for sewing machines is provided. The windings of the induction motor are dimensioned so that the motor speed remains virtually constant in a stable speed range under normal service conditions, and in which the clutch-brake unit serves to control the drive output speed, so that the motor operates in an alternation of load phases and no-load phases. Switches are included in the current paths of the windings, which reduce the current through the windings to a prescribable degree. A modulation circuit to control the acceleration of the motor speed and its persistence in the stable speed range during load variations is associated with the switches. The modulation circuit contains a delay element, which is triggered when the mains voltage is applied, and an impulse prolongation element having a time constant dimensioned so that the motor remains in the stable speed range under all service conditions.

Circuit arrangement for energy economy

A protective circuit for an electronic switching amplifier is controlled by an operating switch, the amplifier serving to turn on an electromagnet with timed pulses during its operating interval. The electromagnet may electromagnetically actuate positioning and actuating elements on sewing machines and the like, with the timed pulses. A cutoff voltage limiting circuit is connected on one side between the electromagnet and the switching amplifier. A free-running diode is connected in parallel with the electromagnet through an electronic switch as an additional cutoff voltage limiting circuit. The electronic switch is caused to conduct by the switching amplifier during the operating interval, at least during the decay of the timing pulses. The electronic switch is blocked when the operating interval is terminated by the operating switch. The cutoff voltage limiting circuit is designed to conduct when electronic switch is blocked.
