An exhaust gas system clamping and joining device for clamping and joining at least two components of an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle has a clamping unit with at least one positioning unit and at least one holding unit, the holding unit being a vacuum system having at least one vacuum suction cup and a joining unit including a welding unit or a soldering unit. The two components of the exhaust gas system can be transferred by the positioning unit into a predetermined position and can be secured by the holding unit in the predetermined position and joined by the joining unit. An exhaust gas system clamping device for clamping at least two components of an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle has at least one positioning unit and at least one holding unit. The two components of the exhaust gas system can be transferred by the positioning unit into a predetermined position and can be secured by the holding unit in the predetermined position, the holding unit being a vacuum system having at least one vacuum suction cup.

Clamping and joining device for an exhaust gas system

A component of an exhaust system, in particular of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, has a double-walled pipe which encloses at least one air gap. The double-walled pipe includes at least two layers positioned radially over each other and attached to each other at a plurality of fixing points distributed over a periphery. At least one of the layers is a structured layer and has a wave structure with a plurality of wave crests and wave troughs distributed along the periphery. For manufacturing the component, at least one sheet metal strip is provided, which is structured in sections to give it a wave form. A brazing material is applied at the intended fixing points. The sheet metal strip is then wound up to form the double-walled pipe. The latter is calibrated, and the layers are connected at the fixing points by induction brazing.

Component of an exhaust system and method of manufacturing such a component

A joining device for producing an exhaust gas system for an internal combustion engine comprises a device base, a frame, and at least two joining units that can be operated simultaneously are fastened to the frame. The frame extends essentially vertically starting from the device base. In a method for producing the exhaust gas system, at least one joining unit of a joining device is oriented to a geometry of the exhaust gas system that is to be produced, at least three components or assemblies of the exhaust gas system are positioned in the joining device, and the components or assemblies are simultaneously connected.

Joining device and method for producing an exhaust gas system

An exhaust system component for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle comprises a substrate which is held in a substantially cylindrical housing. The cylindrical housing has a housing jacket which comprises a metal sheet bent about a cylinder axis. The ends of the metal sheet oriented in the circumferential direction relative to the cylinder axis form a joint connected with a weld seam. The weld seam is spaced apart from an inner surface of the housing jacket and the ends each have a bevel at least in sections.

Exhaust system component

An exhaust gas system includes a first exhaust component and a second exhaust component that are spaced apart from each other by a solder gap that can be has great as 1.20 mm. A high temperature solder material is provided near the solder gap and is heated by an inductor to form an induction solder joint between the first and second exhaust components.

Exhaust system

An exhaust system is manufactured in the following manner. Initially, a plurality of pipe sections are put into each other with a clearance fit, so that connecting points are formed, at which two pipe sections overlap each other. The pipe sections then are calibrated at the connecting points, so that a narrow gap is obtained. Subsequently, the connecting points are soldered. The exhaust system thus includes a plurality of pipe sections which are put into each other and soldered to each other. Outer pipe sections of the plurality of pipe sections are calibrated.
