Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for signaling parameters for peer-to-peer communications in a wireless network. One aspect provides a method for wireless communications at an access point (AP). The method generally includes: obtaining, from an access point (AP), a transmission opportunity (TXOP) sharing trigger indicating a duration in which a TXOP is shared by the wireless station and one or more other devices; relaying, to the one or more other devices, information identifying parameters for wireless communications between the wireless station and the one or more other devices; and during the TXOP, communicating with the one or more other devices based on the parameters for wireless communications between the wireless station and the one or more other devices.

Communication parameter signaling for peer-to-peer communications

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems that facilitate mobility of wireless communication devices configured for multi-link operation (MLO). Particular aspects more specifically relate to facilitating fast basic service set (BSS) transitions by wireless communication devices that support MLO. For example, some aspects provide support for station (STA) multi-link device (MLD) roaming between access point (AP) MLDs, from an AP MLD to a non-MLO AP, or from a non-MLO AP to an AP MLD. In some aspects, a STA MLD may be configured to use a medium access control (MAC) service access point address (MAC-SAP address) of the AP MLD when re-associating or communicating with a legacy AP or with an AP MLD. In such aspects, the MAC-SAP address may be used by all STAs of the non-AP MLD for fast BSS transitions.

System that manages access point multi-link device with multiple stations

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may identify an aggregation capability to communicate in parallel over a plurality of wireless links. The wireless device may in some cases broadcast this aggregation capability (e.g., periodically). Additionally or alternatively, the wireless device may transmit the aggregation capability in response to a request received from another wireless device. In some cases, the first wireless device may transmit a request to a second wireless device inquiring about aggregation capabilities of the second wireless device. The second wireless device may respond with its aggregation capabilities (e.g., or may broadcast its aggregation capabilities independently of receiving the response). The wireless devices may establish a multi-link session based at least in part on the indicated aggregation capabilities.

Signaling for link aggregation setup and reconfiguration

This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for communicating cross-link multi-link signaling (MLS) control signaling in wireless local area networks (WLANs). In various aspects, an apparatus may generate a frame that includes a header including an MLS subfield that includes a set of bits associated with a respective link of a set of links between the first MLD and a second MLD. The apparatus may configure a signaling type (s-type) of the MLS subfield with a value indicating a type of MLS control signaling associated with the MLS subfield, and may configure each bit of a first subset of bits of the MLS subfield with a value indicating that the type of MLS control signaling is applicable to the respective link associated with the bit. Further, the apparatus may output the first frame for transmission to the second MLD on a first link of the set of links.

Cross-link signaling for multi-link devices

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device that operates in a wireless local area network may include an auxiliary radio and a main radio and may operate in both an auxiliary radio mode and a main radio mode. The auxiliary radio may support both transmitting and receiving or may support receiving only. The wireless device may indicate parameters associated with an auxiliary radio mode and/or with transitioning from the auxiliary radio mode to a main radio mode. The auxiliary radio may perform additional functions while the wireless device communicates with a second wireless device on a wireless link using the main radio. For example, the auxiliary radio may monitor channel metrics of the wireless link, receive and/or transmit control communications with the second wireless device, receive and/or transmit high importance data communications, or scan for and/or initiate connections via other wireless channels.

Methods for improving wireless performance using auxiliary radios

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for advertising operating channels that are being operated in an unlicensed frequency band. One or more access points (APs) may transmit discovery information on a dedicated discovery channel for the unlicensed frequency band. The discovery information may indicate at least one operating channel that is being used by an AP for providing wireless access. The discovery information also may include other information useful for a station (STA) to discover APs, operating channels, and operating parameters. The STA may monitor the dedicated discovery channel to obtain the discovery information without conducting an active scanning or passive scanning procedure.

Discovery channel for unlicensed frequency band

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for transmitting and receiving physical protocol data units (PPDUs) over multiple links. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine that first random back off (RBO) for a first channel of a first link has counted down to zero. A wireless communication device may determine, when the first RBO has counted down to zero, that a second RBO for a second channel of a second link has a count down remaining. A wireless communication device may optionally transmit a medium reservation message on the first link reserving a transmission opportunity (TXOP). A wireless communication device may determine whether to wait for the second RBO before transmitting on the first link. A wireless communication device may transmit at least a first PPDU on the first link during the TXOP.

Uplink (UL) aggregation for multi-link operation (MLO)

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communication at a first station. The method generally includes establishing at least one communication link with a second station and transmitting, to a first MLD, an indication of the communication link and a time period in which the first station will operate on the communication link.

Coordinating multi-link operation with communication links

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device and a second wireless device (e.g., access points, stations) may support transmission opportunity (TXOP) sharing procedures. The second wireless device may transmit a frame indicating a capability of the second wireless device to support one or more triggered TXOP sharing modes. The second wireless device may transmit an indication (e.g., a frame) indicating to change support for the triggered TXOP sharing modes based on the capability. The change may indicate to suspend, resume, disable, or enable the triggered TXOP sharing modes. For example, the second wireless device may transmit an indication to suspend support of a first triggered TXOP sharing mode that enables the second wireless device to perform peer-to-peer transmissions. Accordingly, the first wireless device may trigger the second wireless device to communicate according to the supported triggered TXOP sharing modes.

Dynamic selection of triggered transmission opportunity sharing modes

This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced trigger frames. Some implementations more specifically relate to trigger frame designs that support gains in data throughput achievable in accordance with the IEEE 802.11be amendment, and future generations, of the IEEE 802.11 standard. In some implementations, an enhanced trigger frame may be used to solicit a non-legacy trigger-based (TB) physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) from one or more wireless stations (STAs). In some implementations, the enhanced trigger frame may be configurable to support multiple versions of the IEEE 802.11 standard. For example, an enhanced trigger frame may be configured in accordance with a legacy trigger frame format or a non-legacy trigger frame format. Thus, when configured in accordance with the legacy trigger frame format, the enhanced trigger frame can also be used to a legacy TB PPDU from one or more STAs.

Enhanced trigger frame

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for protecting latency-sensitive communications among multi-link devices (MLDs). An access point (AP) MLD may establish multiple communication links with a non-AP MLD and schedule a restricted target wake time (r-TWT) service period (SP) on one of the links (the 'r-TWT link'). In some aspects, when a transmit opportunity (TXOP) acquired on a non-r-TWT link overlaps the r-TWT SP, the TXOP may be extended to support an exchange of latency-sensitive traffic on the non-r-TWT link. In some other aspects, any TXOPs occurring on non-r-TWT links may be terminated prior to the start of the r-TWT SP so that latency-sensitive traffic can be exchanged on the r-TWT link during the SP. An AP MLD also may schedule SPs on multiple communication links. In some aspects, the AP MLD may transfer a TWT agreement between the communication links.

Low latency solutions for restricted target wake time (R-TWT) during multi-link operation (MLO)

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for signaling between an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP MLD that support multi-link communication in a wireless local area network (WLAN). In some implementations, a multi-link association may include a first link (referred to as an anchor link) and one or more other links (referred to as auxiliary links). The signaling may include control information to activate or deactivate auxiliary links dynamically based on communication load, throughput requirements, or quality of service (QOS). The signaling also may include requests, acknowledgments, or negotiation regarding multi-link connections. Furthermore, signaling and timing information may be used to coordinate when auxiliary links are used for communication or when to promote an auxiliary link to an anchor link.

Signaling for multi-link communication in a wireless local area network (WLAN)

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for wireless communication performed by a wireless communication device. An example wireless communication device includes an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD). The AP MLD transmits a beacon frame to a wireless station (STA) MLD, the beacon frame including a plurality of AP medium access control (MAC) addresses of respective APs belonging to the AP MLD. The AP MLD receives an association request from the STA MLD, the association request including a plurality of STA MAC addresses of respective STAs belonging to the STA MLD. The AP MLD generates, during a handshake operation with the STA MLD, one or more encryption keys configured to encrypt communications between the AP MLD and the STA MLD. The AP MLD verifies the plurality of STA MAC addresses based at least in part on the one or more encryption keys.

Multi-link wireless communication security

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a multi-link device are described. A first multi-link device (MLD) may communicate with a second MLD in accordance with the techniques depicted herein. For instance, the second MLD may transmit an indication of at least a portion of a beacon interval timeline for communications between the second MLD and one or more first MLDs on a first radio frequency link. In some examples, the beacon interval timeline may include at least one of a beacon transmit interval, and one or more service periods, channel access over a second radio frequency link being via the one or more service periods. A service period may be scheduled for communications on the second radio frequency link. The second MLD may then communicate in accordance with at least one of the beacon transmit interval and the one or more service periods.

Techniques for channel access in wireless communications systems

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device (e.g., station (STA), access point (AP)) may transmit to a second wireless device during a service period, an initiating frame using a transmit beam that is based on a first beam training procedure performed between the devices prior to the service period. The first wireless device may perform a second beam training procedure during the service period based on an absence of a response frame from the second wireless device, based on an indication within the response frame received from the second wireless device, or based on identification of a change in a wireless channel relative to a previous beam training interval or previous service period. The first wireless device may then communicate one or more messages with the second wireless device using one or more beams that are based on the second beam training procedure.
