A hand held shower head especially--but not exclusively--for personal use has a porous sponge removably clamped over the holes from which a water spray normally issues. The sponge converts the spray into a flowing cascade of water. The sponge is changeable so that each user may have a clean surface, as he sees fit or so that different spray characteristics may be achieved. An arrangement is provided for hanging up the sponge if a user wishes to use the shower with the spray instead of with the cascading flow of water.

Personalized hand held shower head

A shower shaver is made from two plastic piece parts. A first part is a handle in the nature of a pipe terminating in a fan-shaped or flared, tray like top surface. The other piece part is a cover or top which fits over and cooperates with the tray top to form a cavity which delivers a flared sheet of water toward an orifice which strikes to broad surfaces of said blade and then exits under the cutting edge of the blade. The tubing or hose attached to the shower shaver razor leads to a nipple which may be interposed between a shower head and a plumbing pipe. A valve on the nipple provides a continuously variable control over the flow of water to the shaver and/or the shower head. A bracket or hanger is attached to the nipple to receive and support the razor when it is not in use.

Shower shaver

A shower filter is adapted to be installed between a plumbing pipe and a shower head. The filter includes a changeable filter cartridge. A three position valve in the appliance is able to (a) block all flow of water, (b) deliver filtered water, or (c) deliver unfiltered water. An adapter may be used to enable the appliance to receive different types of filter cartridges.

A cartridge for a water filter system has a closed housing with only an inlet and an outlet formed in the lower surface thereof. A discharge tube extends from the outlet at the bottom, through the housing, to a position near the top of the housing. There, an elongated sleeve of filter material filters the water leaving the housing. The space between the inlet and the filter sleeve is filled with three different filter materials, most of which is activated charcoal.

An improved showerhead comprising a nozzle and a ring valve. The interior of the nozzle defines a secondary fluid passageway. The exterior of the nozzle includes a plurality of grooves on the front portion of the nozzle. The nozzle also includes at least one opening through its sidewall. The ring valve includes a recessed cavity and fits over the nozzle in sliding engagement with the nozzle between a first and second position. When the ring valve is in its first position, the recessed cavity communicates with both the opening and the channel passageways to form a primary fluid passageway, permitting water to flow through both the primary and the secondary fluid passageways. When the ring valve is in its second position, the inner surface of the ring valve blocks the opening through the nozzle sidewall such that fluid flows through only the secondary fluid passageways rather than the primary channel passageways. In preferred form, the front end of the nozzle wall flares outward in divergent frustoconical fashion such that fluid flow through the nozzle creates a pressure drop which atomizes fluid flowing the secondary passageway into a steam-like mist.

Showerhead

A water filter for use in connection with a replaceable cartridge is disclosed. The cartridge filter has four stages, and a housing for the cartridge filter has a base in which the cartridge filter is mounted on a water-flow-control section extending from the base. The water-flow-control section includes a linearly slidable plunger that directs water either toward or away from the cartridge filter by means of a rotatable lever connected to a slot in the plunger.

The improved showerhead disclosed herein includes at least two, and preferably four, separate spray nozzles and is constructed so as to permit users to select the particular spray nozzle through which water is to be discharged. The showerhead may be mounted on the end of a conventional shower arm extending from a wall or may be held in the user's hand and connected with a source of water by a flexible conduit. The showerhead comprises a housing having disc member and dial assembly mounted thereon. The dial assembly includes the spray nozzles, and the selection of a particular spray nozzle is achieved by manually rotating the dial assembly, with respect to the disc member and housing, about its central axis. A novel 'butterfly' seal is disposed between the disc member and the dial assembly. A latch is mounted on the housing and cooperates with the dial assembly to retain the dial assembly in its proper position with respect to the disc member. The latch also serves as an indicator to enable the user of the showerhead to know where to position the dial assembly, with respect to the disc member and housing, so that water will be sprayed through a particular spray nozzle. The structure of one of the spray nozzles, when utilized in cooperation with the disc member, provides a pulsating, invigorating spray.
