An ink transfer device which can be clamped on a rubber covered cylinder in a printing press includes a rubber blanket for transferring ink from a printing forme to a printing material, the blanket having a leading end and a trailing end which are separated by a non-ink transferring gap when the device is clamped on the cylinder; a carrier element fixed to the rubber blanket; and a pair of fixing elements for clamping the blanket on the cylinder, the fixing elements being positioned on the carrier adjacent to respective ends of the blanket. In order to minimize the non-ink transferring gap, the fixing elements and the carrier element are formed as separate subassemblies which are joined together.

Ink transfer device for a printing press

A support sleeve made of a metallic material, preferably of nickel, is provided at at least one longitudinal end with a chamfer running all around in the inner circumference. This prevents damage to a film-like coating or thin intermediate sleeve, which surrounds the cylinder core to which the sleeve is fitted. A device for chamfering and deburring the longitudinal ends of the sleeve include a supporting body having a cylindrical journal with a diameter only slightly smaller than the internal diameter of the sleeve to be machined, in order to accommodate a longitudinal end of the sleeve and to guide the cut. A cutting holder is machined on the supporting body by means of which holder a cutter can be brought up to the inner circumference of the longitudinal end of the sleeve to be machined, and the supporting body can be rotated relative to the sleeve to be machined and pushed onto the journal.

A rubber blanket for covering a transfer cylinder of a printing machine is provided. The transfer cylinder includes a cylinder channel for receiving an end of the rubber blanket to secure the rubber blanket to the transfer cylinder. The rubber blanket includes a rigid carrier plate and a plurality of layers that are arranged on the carrier plate. The plurality of layers include a cover layer, a non-expandable layer arranged underneath the cover layer and at least one other layer. A first end portion of the rubber blanket is adapted for insertion into a cylinder channel. The cover layer and the non-expandable layer extend into the first end portion and the at least one other layer does not extend into the first end portion such that when the rubber blanket is secured to a transfer cylinder the cover layer and the non-expandable layer are inserted into the cylinder channel and the at least one other layer is not inserted into the cylinder channel.

An apparatus for producing a sleeve-shaped printing form from a plate-shaped blank includes a circular shaping device for the blank, a welding system, by means of which the plate edges forming the start and end of the printing form can be cut to size, maintaining their dimensions, and welded, and a displaceable device for picking up and for transporting the blank to the circular shaping device. The displaceable device has a fixing frame which has two lifting elements which can be adjusted in accordance with the distance between the plate edges to be joined and can be set along the respective plate edge. The leading plate edge is equipped with a register hole system, a lifting element comprising a pin register interacting with the register hole system while suction elements fix the leading edge, the other lifting element is configured with at least one suction element, the feed table being arranged so as to rise in the direction of the welding system, so that the blank, fixed by means of the pin register, aligns itself in an in-register and level manner, in the direction of its trailing edge, along the obliquely extending feed table on account of its inherent weight.

Apparatus for producing a sleeve-shaped printing form

Apparatus includes a housing, a feed table outside the housing for receiving a plate-like blank, a round shaping device in the housing for shaping the blank into a sleeve-like printing form, a welding system, and a transport device for fixing, transporting and depositing the blank aligned level on the shaping device. The transport device includes a plate suction frame penetrated by suction elements which make contact with the blank placed on the feed table. After contact has been made, the blank is fixed by activating the suction elements on the plate suction frame so as to be aligned level, and transported in a stable position to the round shaping device. The raw form is deposited on the round shaping device so as to be aligned level and fixed in-register.

Apparatus for producing a sleeve-like printing form

A method for smoothing and compacting a weld on a cylindrical support sleeve includes mounting the support sleeve on an abutment and moving a device across the support sleeve such that a roller on the support sleeve rolls on the weld under pressure so that it smooths and levels the weld. An arrangement for smoothing and compacting a weld on a cylindrical support sleeve includes, the abutment on which the support sleeve may be mounted, the device, and the roller.

Method and device for working a weld on a support sleeve

A plate cylinder for a sleeve-type printform, particularly an aluminum offset printform, with a ramp-like transition piece as a guide surface for the mechanical expansion of the sleeve-type printform onto the larger cylinder diameter. At least the surface area of the plate cylinder that is covered by the ramp-like transition piece has a highly wear-resistant and pressure-resistant slide surface of a material different from the remaining surface material of the plate cylinder to prevent abrasion when the printform is slipped onto the plate cylinder.

For the register of a sleeve-shaped offset priming form in which the beginning and end of the plate-shaped blank of the printing form are connected by a weld seam, a guide element in the form of a projection is provided for the sleeve at the inside of the sleeve. A form cylinder which can be used in combination with the sleeve has a groove extending along its entire width, which groove has a depth that is greater than the height of the projection. The projection can be inserted completely into the groove so that the sleeve can be secured on the form cylinder in the circumferential direction.
