The disclosed ammunition is adapted for flowering into a plurality of sections upon impact with a body or object. The ammunition comprises a cylindrical casing, a charge disposed within the cylindrical casing and cylindrical projectile, defining a first portion within the casing and a second portion extending from the casing. The projectile comprises a projectile body and projectile jacket. The projectile jacket is disposed about at least a portion of the projectile body. The projectile body and/or the projectile jacket each define a leading end and a plurality of radially arrayed score lines formed therein, extending from the leading end. Upon impact, the projectile body and/or the projectile jacket flower into a plurality of radially arrayed sections, the sections being defined by the score lines formed in the projectile body and/or the projectile jacket.

Ammunition for providing a multilayer flowering upon impact

Less lethal ammunition is disclosed for inhibiting activities of a living target, and marking the living target. The ammunition comprises a cylindrical casing, a charged disposed within the cylindrical casing, a cylindrical body defining a bottom cap and a top section. The cylindrical body has first portion disposed within the casing and a second portion extending from the casing. An inhibiting agent is disposed within the casing substantially adjacent the bottom cap, and at least one marking capsule is disposed within the cylindrical body substantially adjacent a top section. A spacer is disposed within the cylindrical body intermediate the inhabiting agent and the marking capsule(s). The ammunition may be fired from a conventional handgun, rifle or shotgun. The cylindrical body is formed of a substantially transparent material to allow a user to visual identify the marking capsules and inhibiting agent within the cylindrical body.

Less lethal ammunition

The present invention relates to a remote meter reading method and system of the type that may be poled by wireless communication. Other remote reading systems require a periodic change of batteries used to supply the power to the communication and other systems used in the remote meters. The present invention mitigates this need by using the water and gas flow into homes or other buildings to generate power used to recharge those batteries.

Method and system for reading utility meters

A connector assembly is provided for communicating electrical signals between a connector having a plurality of pins and a remote location. The assembly comprises a mounting board mountable on the pins and having a plurality of apertures for receiving and retaining the pins. The mounting board further includes a plurality of conductive patterns formed thereon, each conductive pattern extending from one of the pin apertures to an associated connector pad formed on the mounting board. A flexible cable having a plurality of conductors and connector pads is disposed adjacent the mounting board such that the cable connector pads are arrayed proximate the mounting board connector pads, in vertical registry therewith. A retaining member is connected to the mounting board for urging the flexible cable connector pads into electrical communication with the mounting board connector pads.

Pin connector assembly

Provided is a sanitary handle cover configured to store and dispense sanitary fluid in response to pressure being applied to the handle cover, such as when an individual grabs the handle cover to open the door. The handle cover may additionally be adapted to be quickly and easily placed over the handle and substantially conform to the shape of the handle to remain on the handle during use.

There is provided a safety vest assembly including a vest having a vest outer layer defining a vest inner cavity. A pair of contact substrates is disposed within the vest inner cavity. Each contact substrate includes an input connection element. A data input is connected to a respective contact substrate. The data input is electrically connected to the respective input connection element and is configured to receive data from the wearer. A data output is connected to a respective contact substrates and is communicable with a remote transceiver. The data output is electrically connected to the respective input connection element and is configured to communicate data to the remote transceiver. An input flex circuit is engageable with the pair of input connection elements to facilitate communication between the data input and data output along the input flex circuit.

Safety vest assembly including a high reliability communication system

A sensing and analyzing device for determining when physical limits of a patient have been exceeded by the patient during exercise is provided. The device may comprise a sensing unit, analyzing unit and a warning unit. The sensing unit may be attached to critical locations on a body of the patient. The sensing unit may be operative to sense pressure. The analyzing unit may be attached to a convenient location on the patient's body. The analyzing unit may be operative to receive pressure data from the sensing unit to determine whether the patient has exceeded the physical limits of the patient. The warning unit may communicate with the analyzing unit and be activated by the analyzing unit when the physical limit of the patient has been exceeded for notifying the patient when the patient's physical limits have been exceeded.

Sensor and analyzer for determining physiological limitations

A sanitary article is provided for reducing the spread of contamination between a user and an object. The article comprises a permeable layer, an impermeable layer, and an anti-bacterial gel interposed between the permeable layer and the impermeable layer. The permeable and impermeable layers may be sealed to each other to restrict the movement of the gel and to make the article unitary. The gel may at least partially diffuse through the permeable layer upon the user contacting the permeable layer while the impermeable layer impeded diffusion of the gel toward the object upon the object contacting the impermeable layer.

Sanitary wrap

A device for relaxing a participant while participating in an activity is provided. The device may comprise an amusement machine and a relaxasizer. The amusement machine may be interactive with the participant. Also, the amusement machine may have a receptacle having a starter circuit for permitting the participant to interact with the amusement machine. The relaxasizer may be positioned adjacent to the amusement machine for massaging the participant's lower body while the participant interacts with the machine. Also, the relaxasizer may be activated by the starter circuit of the amusement machine.

There is provided a power generation and distribution system for use in combination with a utility conduit having fluid passing therethrough. The power generation and distribution system includes a rotation element disposable within the utility conduit. The rotation element rotates in response to fluid passing within the utility conduit. A power generator is in mechanical communication with the rotation element, and generates power in response to rotation of the rotation element. This system also includes a power distributor in electrical communication with the power generator and electrically connectable to a power outlet to distribute power thereto.

Flow generator for use in connection with a utility conduit

A thermal module is provided for absorbing and dissipating heat from a heat generating component. The module comprises a module body, input and output ports, and a channel disposed within the module body. The module body includes a thermally conductive base, a top surface, and a side surface rising from the base toward the top surface. The base is disposable adjacent the heat generating component to facilitate transfer of heat from the heat generating component to the base. The input and output ports are each disposed on the side surface of the body. The channel is encapsulated within the module body and extends from the input port to the output port to define a flow path. The channel is operative to convey a cooling fluid therethrough for absorbing and dissipating the heat from the heat generating component.

Liquid cooled module

A surgical process for freezing or cauterizing infected tissue, by inserting a transparent sleeve through a small slit in the flesh of a patient and wherein the inserted end of the sleeve is provided with a cone-shaped tip. Monitoring of the sleeve and probe insertion and location of the infected area is achieved by video camera. After removing the solid and rigid probe, a fiber optic tube is inserted into the sleeve whereby ambient light is conducted through the tube. A carbon rod is inserted through the fiber optic tube having its pointed end in contact with the infected area. The carbon rod is connected to a source of cold or heat. In a cold application, the infected area is frozen so when the carbon rod is removed and replaced by a suction device, the frozen area can be fragmented and the particles removed.

Thermally conductive surgical probe

A solid state thermal device for conducting heat from a source and transferring the heat to an exhaust tunnel or converter for controlling the current flow passing through the solid state device. The device includes a plurality of diode arrays which interface between heat conductors and an exhaust tunnel, The device includes a thermal cable connected at one end to the heat source and connected at its other end to an interface of solid state devices, such as a diode array. Conductance of the heat to the interface diode array is via a graphite heat conducting composite material conducting heat at least five times the rate of copper. A thermal conversion unit is coupled to the diode interfacing arrays that controllably transfers the heat for introduction into a plurality of graphite composition stages or members, which are included in the unit. A blower is provided in the tunnel for forcibly conducting the heat radiated from the graphite composition members. The diode array interface removes a small amount of heat and then conducts it to the next array, thereby pulling the heat away from the heat source. The graphite material is directional in thermal conduction, and the blower utilizes convection to blow heat through the tunnel.

Solid state thermal apparatus

A surgical apparatus and process for freezing or cauterizing a particular infected body area employing a transparent sleeve insertable through a small slit in the flesh of a patient and wherein the inserted end of the sleeve is provided with a cone-shaped tip having a plurality of segments normally self biased to close to define a dull pointed end susceptible for expansion when a solid, rigid probe is inserted through the sleeve. The end of the probe includes a conical or cone-shaped tip with a small extension or projection that causes expansion of the flaps on the tip of the sleeve. The extension on the end of the probe is placed in alignment position to locate the infected organ or area to be removed. Monitoring of the sleeve and probe insertion and location of the infected area is achieved by video camera. After removing the solid and rigid probe, a fiber optic tube is inserted into the sleeve whereby ambient light is conducted through the tube to the advancing end of the sleeve. A carbon rod is inserted through the fiber optic tube so as to have its pointed end in contact with the tumor, body organ or infected area. The carbon rod is connected to a source of cold or heat. In a cold application, the infected area or tumor is frozen so that when the carbon rod is removed and replaced by a suction device, the frozen infected area or tumor can be fragmented and the particles removed.

A temperature tracking attenuator includes a substrate having a circuit chip with electrical connections providing a thermal interface with adjacent circuitry providing an attenuator component package. The package comprises a thermal layer on one side which is adhesively joined to the underside of an insulative layer with the exposed side of the insulative layer having an output connector, an input connector, and a circuit ground connector. A pocket in the layers receives an attenuator chip that includes an input tab, an output tab and a ground tab, which are indexed and registered with the input connector, the output connector and the circuit ground connector. A spring pressure clip, which constitutes ground, is pressed over the edge of the package where one leg of the clip engages with the circuit ground connector and the other leg of the clip connects to the underside of the thermal layer.
