A wireless communication device providing a node in an industrial wireless network investigates if there is more than one data packet with process control data from the same data originating device destined for a process control device in a transmission queue, where the data originating device is an interface to the process being controlled and transmits data packets in the transmission queue. If there is more than one such data packet, the wireless communication device further compares time stamps of the data packets, where a time stamp reflects the time of generation of a corresponding data packet, keeps the newest data packet and discards older data packets, so that only the most recent data packets from a data originating device are sent to the process control device from the node.

Transmitting data packets in an industrial wireless network

A computer implemented method for providing a time slot allocation in a wireless communication schedule for monitoring and control of a control loop in an industrial process, the industrial process having at least one control task and a plurality of wirelessly enabled field devices. The method includes importing dependency information between at least two field devices of at least one control loop, automatically converting the dependency information into a communication schedule and allocating time slots in the communication schedule to one or more field devices of the at least one control loop dependent at least on a dependency relationship between at least two field devices. A system and a computer program product are also disclosed.

Computer-implemented method and system for automatic generation of time slot allocation for a wireless control loop

A method of allocating time slots for sensor node sample transmission from sensor nodes in a wireless sensor node network which forms part of a control system for controlling an industrial process includes receiving a sample from a first sensor node in a first time slot of a superframe, which first sample has a value outside an accepted range of values, obtaining an identification of a second time slot of the superframe in which second time slot the first sensor node is to send a further sample in a subsequent superframe, and providing instructions to the first sensor node to send the further sample in the second time slot of a subsequent superframe. A computer program product and a sensor node network interface system are also disclosed herein.

Method and sensor node network interface system for wireless control of an industrial process

A control system for controlling at least one environmental parameter in an operating area in response to sensor signals. The system includes a central control unit, actuators and mobile sensor units, and also at least one, preferably a plurality, of communication nodes which are placed in the operating area. Each one of the communication nodes is configured to mediate signals between the sensor units and the central control unit in a monitoring area by wirelessly receiving sensor signals from sensor units located within its monitoring area and forwarding the sensor signals to the central control unit. A monitoring area of a communication node is defined by the signal coverage of the communication node.

A method in a wireless process control system for reducing power consumption of a sensor node of the wireless process control system. The wireless process control system further includes a controller in wireless communication with the sensor node wherein the sensor node is in a sleep mode. The method includes the steps of: predicting based on an error signal, when sensor measurement data is needed from the sensor node and determining an instant of time for communication between the controller and the sensor node based thereon; and the sensor node re-entering the sleep mode. Method in a wireless process control system for reducing power consumption, and a controller and computer program products

A method for optimizing the position of a plurality of containers in a block, including at least one crane configured to move the containers is provided. A crane control unit (CCU) is provided in which the following steps are performed: identifying a selected container to be moved from a current position CP within a sub-section of said block to a new position NP within the sub-section; calculating a number of container moves required facilitating the move of the selected container in previous step; arranging the required number of container moves in a queue for each crane; and performing the container moves as arranged in the queue by controlling said at least one crane. Also provided is a computer program, a computer-readable medium encoded with the computer program, and a system for optimizing the position of a plurality of containers in a block.
